Papa and Grandsons
My 2 teen age grandsons (14 & 17) made our 2nd annual grouse hunting trip to Northern MN. Despite rainy conditions, they had a great time, bringing 8 ruffed grouse back to Blaine, MN to share with family! Yum! Cabin was just as listed in VRBO—older but clean, comfortable beds, nice appliances. Owners pleasant and helpful. Thank you!

Great cabin retreat in Tower MN
We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. The on site hosts Roy and Diane were fantastic! Courtney was great getting us set up and booked and gave us excellent directions to the cabin and precise information regarding check in, The view was great and there is even a bar/ restaurant just feet away. It was peaceful and serene. Our neighboring cabin folks caught their limit daily! We would definitely go back again.

Nice cabin on a great fishing lake
The cabin was clean, roomy enough to sleep five adults, with Wi-Fi, TV, and great dock access. Roy was a great host, giving us plenty of helpful fishing tips. We really enjoyed our stay.

The cabin needs some improvements The bathroom fluorescent light does not work. The basic items like soap, wash cloths, salt and pepper were not furnished. The kitchen needs more glasses.

We regret that you did not understand what you were getting with your rental. It was immediately clear that you and your husband were expecting significantly more luxury and that our old cabin was not the place for you. However, I would like to point out that the same day you called one of the properties owners brought everything you had requested and fixed the light.

Funky treasure
It would have been small for a lot of people but I loved staying here. Especially important to me was the swimming, deep, cold, excellent swimming. The onsite management was excellent, Denise is terrific. I loved the relaxed attitudes about dogs! It’s an old-style, knotty pine cabin with all the basics provided ( like towels, TP, all kinds of utensils, dish pan and drying rack). A nice deck is wrapped around the lakeside of the cabin was lovely to sit on and watch the Lake. I was lucky it was a quiet week, It’s not secluded —right over the fence there’s Tavern on the Bay, with OK food and decent live music, but, since I ended up there alone with my dog, I liked that. (They’re quiet after ten.) Overall, I was really pleased with this place, I would return.

Cozy Cabin with a welcoming feel
The owners are the sweetest and make sure you have everything you need! The cabin is 1 of 3 on the property, they also have some campers parked on the property. Everything is spaced out pretty well though, very large piece of land for on the water to accommodate everyone. It was quiet and it was nice that their was a restaurant close by. We loved our stay!

Relaxing cabin
Quaint charming cabin with everything you need and very close proximity to restaurants and entertainment. We are into fishing primarily and this location was ideal for us. Beautiful sunsets each evening and the view from the cabin was perfect. The hosts Denise and Roy are fantastic and so easy to talk to and were there if anything was needed.

Rustic Vermillion getaway
Rustic cabin, with Great Lake Vermilion views. Hosts are nearby, very friendly and welcoming. Dogs are very welcomed. Things to be aware of… all beds are bunk bed style or a futon. As described you are not secluded. Multiple campers and cabins near by, and all share 4 docks, and beach area. Plumbing and electrical functional but rustic. Not ideal for individuals with limited mobility, because of steep decent to water, and cabin has narrow spaces. Kitchen has all your basic cooking needs. All in all a nice weekend getaway to relax and take in the local attractions!

Wonderful cabin. Great hosts. Very welcoming and accommodating. . Great location. Close enough to everything we needed. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for two parents, three teens and a dog. Loved every minute of it. Was sad to have to leave. Made us feel very much at home. Thank you for the use of your lovely cabin.

Great time, great hosts, wonderful setting.
We were very impressed with the amenities: very comfortable and spacious beds, good water pressure and plenty of hot water, very nice stove, micro wave, fridge, etc etc. Our hosts Roy and Denise were extremely friendly and accommodating. And, of course, the Vermillion Lake setting is spectacular. We all had a great time.

Great lake front getaway!
The cabin was on the smaller side, but very clean and plenty big for my family of 3. The view from the cabin was amazing and Denise & Roy are amazing hosts! They were very friendly and talking to them was just like we were there visiting old friends. We rented a boat from a local place and were able to keep it right there on one of their docks for the week - so coinvent! We had an amazing stay and hope we can return again next summer!

Right on the Lake with a Beautiful Picture Window
First off, the smaller cabin was being remodeled, so they upgraded us to the 3 bedroom cabin. It is fantastic. It has a very large picture window that looks out onto the lake from the dining table. We were here in early May, before opening, to retrieve our son and his belongings from his first year at a nearby college. So, no fishing, but we sure did enjoy that view! I suppose you would call this a rustic cabin, but it is plenty comfortable. Bedrooms are small, however it has a very spacious living area and kitchen. The floor in the kitchen slopes a bit, but that is somehow very charming. The large deck outside looks onto the lake and has a picnic table and chairs. Charcoal BBQ is provided and there is a restaurant on the resort next-door. Cabin was clean and tidy and very relaxing. Rent this one if you can!

Clean, welcoming and wonderful
The only real criticism is the noise from the restaurant and bar next door. But the hosts were so sweet, cabin and property were clean. Knives sharp and all those little tools needed in the kitchen were supplied! Beach area was small but perfect for our little family of 4. Also, all the beach toys, chairs, Lily pad's etc were wonderful!!!

Nice cabin, cramped property
We had a nice stay overall. We would have liked a touch more privacy. The owners were indeed friendly and available. The cabin is tucked in right next to a Bar, about Fifty feet away, with a wood privacy fence for separation. The cabin itself was cozy and Netflix was great to have with a toddler. There are a few minor functional issues. Primarily, the hot water was absolutely scalding, which is dangerous. The beach area and docks were nice and would have been fun in warmer weather. I think the location was a good jump off point for day trips to Hibbing and Ely.

Lovely experience
our stay was pure majic! My parents, boys and myself, had the most lovely time. We wanted a cabin by the lake experience and it was perfect. Lots of laughs,swimming kayaking wonderful memories for a lifetime. We will be back next summer! Clean cabin and wonderful owners so accommodating and friendly.

Amazing Family Vacation
We had an incredible time! Roy and Denise made us feel like family. Everyone there was so friendly. Our granddaughter had the time of her life jumping off the dock and lily pad! The sunsets were incredible every night. The view from the cabin was perfect! It was like a little piece of heaven just for us especially in the midst of all the doom and gloom of the COVID situation. We will definitely be going back and highly recommend it to anyone! Relaxing Retreat
We had a fantastic vacation! The cabin was very clean, nice and had everything we needed. It was just the perfect size for the two of us. We got to canoe, paddle boat and just spend relaxing time on the beach. We got to have a couple of nights with fires and they had plenty of wood for us. Denise and Roy were super nice and went above and beyond to be friendly and make our stay extremely special! Our dog Brandi had fun making friends with their dogs Otto and Buddy and Rex from the other cabin along with the all of the other kids. They made Brandi feel just as welcome as we were. We will definitely be back!

Amazing getaway!
We spent a week here and enjoyed every minute of it. Roy and Denise are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. We brought our fishing boat and were able to tie it to the dock for the week which was really nice. Roy had some great fishing advice and Denise gave us great ideas to tour around Ely and hike to Kawishiwi Falls. Our pup thoroughly enjoyed it too! We will definitely be back. Vermilion is our new favorite lake. It is incredibly beautiful.

Our family of 4 plus our dog had an amazing time! Cabin was perfectly roomy for us and clean. The bedrooms had plenty of bedding for the chillier nights, the kitchen is fully stocked and the table is big Enough for Sit down dinners. The cabin has a nice deck over looking the lake and and additional deck 1/2 down stairs to the water. We had a nice fire down by the water one night and the kids enjoyed jumping off the dock and using the swim pad and paddle boat. The cabin is located close to a bar/restaurant that had great outdoor seating That you can walk over too. The owners are on site and they are the nicest people ever and very accommodating. We already booked a second trip for later this year and can’t wait to get back!

Good Retreat with Great hosts!
We stayed over memorial weekend for a 2020 Covid retreat, two couples and one dog. The cabin is small, which was expected, and cozy. Good running water, fully stocked with all the essentials and nice deck with a lake view for morning coffees to after dinner cocktails. We brought a boat along and had plenty of dock space four ours and 6 more. Along with the docks there is a nice space for hanging by the lake with a fire pit, swimming area and plenty of seating. There was another family staying in another cabin but didn’t notice much as there is plenty of space on the property for solitude. The cabin is located adjacent to the owners unit and Roy and Denise were fantastic hosts. They truly are there to make your stay as enjoyable and leisure as possible. We are all of our meals at the cabin which gave us time to socialize with Roy and Denise and would visit again just for their company. Construction was happening onsite but all good improvements and expect the property to continue to get better. This did not affect our stay one bit but makes it want to return to see the progress. The fishing was slow on the lake, but off the dock as dawn seemed to be the best. My wife caught a 26” slob off the dock which is her biggest of her life, pretty exciting. The property is adjacent to the Bayview restaurant which wold be convenient but was not able to take advantage of due to Covid restrictions, but gave us the opportunity to spend time with the hosts. Overall we would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away and have little need for upscale amenities and look forward to spending time here again.

This was an old cabin under renovation. The interior was quite spacious and livable, but exterior grounds were undergoing trenching, etc. The Petersons, owners, were in cabin next door; they provided an extra heater for our bathroom and were very cordial. They did express some dismay in getting contractors for aspects of the renovation. The cabin was on Lake Vermilion, but bank was quite steep, so getting a canoe or kayak to the Lake there difficult--but the Petersons indicated they had a canoe available, and of course there is public access not that far away. The cabin was conveniently located for visits to nearby State parks, especially the Soudan Iron Mine, and also the Ojibwe Heritage Center. And Ely was not that far away either. For those looking for a pet-friendly, spacious cabin, I'd recommend contacting the Petersons directly to see the current progress of renovations.

Cozy Cabin Comfort
If you’re looking for a cozy, nostalgic cabin with knotty pine throughout look no further. Watching the fireflies through the lakeside window at night or hearing the singing loons early in the morning brought utter peace and tranquility to our enjoyable stay. From the sandy beach between the docks to the fabulous mid-deck 1/2 way up from the shore everything was absolutely wonderful. Roy and Denise made us feel like “family” and were immediately available to our every need. Just terrific folks simply stated. Plus their two dogs (Otto a Golden Retriever and Buddy a Yellow Lab) were very friendly and a joy be be around. Unquestionably we will be back again next year. Highly Recommended!!

Wonderful family vacation!
Perfect birthday getaway for our family. Denise and Roy were wonderful hosts. The cabin was ideal for 5 people + our four-legged furry family too! We rented a houseboat from Shamrock and had full use of the dock (and floating toys) at the cabin. Between the Live music at the tiki bar next door, fishing and dining opportunities in the area it was a great time! I would definitely rent and recommend this cabin again (and again). Thank you for an excellent family vacation!

Roy and Denise could not have been more welcoming! And we loved their dogs too. We enjoyed the views, their great Wi-Fi (even reaches their docks!) and use of their canoe & docks. They brought beach towels for us to use and a bag of ice! Very thoughtful and pleasant, more like great neighbors than landlords. Walking distance to another cabin where more of the family stayed and next door to a new bar/restaurant. No issues with noise from the restaurant. Fire circle available at lakeside.

We will be back! Perfect for our family
We were trying a new place for our family trip and this cabin had everything we wanted and more. Incredible neighbors, bonfires right on the water, a perfect place to swim for kids of all ages and dogs, a place to dock your boat and tons of other stuff to do. We would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be back to make more memories!
