Beautiful setting, extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. Only negatives are out of order washers, and no in-room refrigerator or microwave. Otherwise, a great place!

Generally, I think the property was in very good condition… We miss that the hot tub is not working. But it’s not a dealbreaker. The front desk crew were very cordial generally had good customer service skills… Steve did a very nice job of trying to deal with a very difficult customer. The only thing we found was that the room was. Very warm… Which made it difficult for us to sleep. But probably great for those coming to Alaska and all bundled up.
Checked in at 5pm. Room wasn’t ready until 9pm. Not enough staff in housekeeping or in restaurant. Waited for 45 minutes to get our food after we’d ordered, which was after 30 minutes waiting to be seated.
The view from the lodge of Mt. Denali was incredible. Very cool lodge areas with a big wood fireplace and multiple spaces to spend time. Restaurant bar was good and had good food. No wifi in rooms only iodge and common areas which was a bit disappointing but the lodge was the place to be anyhow.
This is a very nice lodge with lots of things to do on site. Rooms are nice and the grounds are beautiful. It would have been 5 stars except Internet access in the building 24 area was non-existent and parking is not close to the room (it was raining almost constantly and a long walk gets you pretty wet). This lodge is designed around large groups of people arriving on the tour buses and not people driving their own vehicles. Finally out room was quite hot and the thermostat on the wall was turned all the way to the cold side, so it wasn't controlling the heater.
The property was beautiful The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The dining options were very good.
The only 'down side' was the property is in the middle of nowhere. About 80 miles from Denali National Park.
Our stay was fantastic and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. A special shout out to Ricky for suggestions for things to do! The gift shop has lots of cute items. We were not part of the cruise passengers and were treated just as well. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Although, lodge is older it is well kept. The fine dining was excellent. Lots of neat things to see there besides Denali Mountain range. The bush pilot plane and treehouse are a great additions.

Great place to stay. Very pretty. Tree house was cool! Restaurants on the grounds could be better. Also, disappointed that there was no fridge or microwave in the room- but in their defense that was disclosed.
Room was very nice, large and clean. Service in the lobby restaurant bar was spotty, food ranged from good to just ok. Twice we tried to order Chili and they were out of it. Food, especially the fish from fish and chips were frozen and not good. It looked like different fish in the bar and looked much better.
The setting of this hotel was set like a campus. The landscaping made many buildings blend and not seem industrial. The grounds were nicely kept. The interiors were also nicely maintained. The services were clearly marked and there were enough staff to assist patrons. The food was great and there were several dining options. Overall, very nice stay. Loved the hiking trails.
Staff was not as good as previous stay. Twice they tried to enter my room before 10 am on day of check out. Second time door was opened without knocking and started to walk in while we were getting dressed. We left at 11 am. On way out with luggage young man that was to clean room was walking in front of me. I was carrying 2 suit cases and he opened door and shut ut in my face and did not hold the door for me. I would have expected that he would at least ask if i needed help. I went back and took the tip I had left for him. Second night we had no heating. Came back and found temperature setting to minimum. Tried to set it to 76 as we had left it t it but it would not start. After spending a day at Denali in the rain and cold coming back to a cold room was not a good experience.
Very nice resort in a very good location. The only problem is that the person checking us in was very rude and not helpful at all.

Booked thru Expedia on July 11.
Received email on august 18 that our reservation for august 19 was denied by the McKinley princess lodge because they overbooked. If you use a third party booking company and princess cruise lines has late reservation from there tours you get kicked out. So this won’t happen again with princess companies or Expedia. Ps they rebooked us in another lodge 50 miles from them in the opposite direction of of our trip plans.
It was after dark when we checked on and had to drive around a confusing maze of roads to find the building our room was in. The outdoor lighting was poor and there was no signage pointing you in the right direction. I realize it is light out most of the time in Alaska in the summer but by mid August you do have darkness at night. They did however provide an escort to our building when I asked for help.

The Lodge was nice. Food in the Lodge was mediocre at best. The nice restaurant in a separate outbuilding was closed so I can’t say if that would have been better. Coffee bar was nice but always a long line. Guest rooms need new pillows and mattresses. Housekeeping staff were unreasonably noisy in morning. One was constantly sitting in the guest area on his phone. Couldn’t even say good morning- he looked miserable. And he had his music blasting around guests. Not appreciated.
The lodge was a great place to stay. Even thou we arrived late there seemed like there were fun activities that we could have done. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean.
Property is near Denali STATE park and not Denali NATIONAL park. The property has no cell service or wifi. There is limited dining and what limited dining exists is extremely expensive. The lines and waits for food are extraordinary. The general vibe of the hotel is that it was probably an amazing get away for Alaskans in the 80s and has not modernized since. No one vacationing in Alaska or hiking the trails should stay here. There are much closer and cheaper stays to the hiking trails and parks. There is nothing to do within an hour of this location.

the room was very nice, as was the staff. Outside did look a little sketchy.
