Calypta Retreat :: Umina Beach

Nestled in a leafy part of South Umina, Calypta Retreat is the perfect getaway for a family or couple looking for an ocean break. Only 3 minutes drive (15 minutes walk) from Umina Beach and the Peninsula Recreation Precinct the accommodation suits those who enjoy the great outdoors.

Umina Beach is a 90 minute drive from both Sydney and Newcastle and is ideal for swimming, surfing, SUPing and walking on one our many dog-friendly beaches or bush walks.

The space
Calypta Retreat occupies the entire upstairs of my house. It has a separate entrance and fully fenced garden. It is also dog-friendly.

The accommodation consists of the following:
• 2 bedrooms - one double and one king (or 2 singles)
• Travel cot and high chair are available by request
• Open plan living and dining
• Fully equipped kitchen and laundry
• Modern bathroom with freestanding shower

It's a winner

Lovely, spacious and everything included, Calypta Retreat is a very nice two-bedroom getaway. Nearby beach is great for dogs ... and people. Would have been nice to have a couple of seats or chairs in the yard.

A truly comfortable stay
Calypta Retreat exceeded our expectations. It's in a great location - walking distance to the beach - and has everything we needed to have a really comfortable stay with our dogs. The yard is fully enclosed and I felt our dogs were safe and secure in the yard. The property is fresh and clean and the linen crisp and smells delightful. Everything is there to make your stay easy and enjoyable and the place is beautifully decorated. We stayed in spring and the smell of the Port Wine Magnolia in the back yard was delicious. Thanks Rob for a providing such a beautiful sanctuary in which to relax.

Rob was so helpful as we had a car accident and needed to source accommodation . Went out of his way to assist us . The unit is fully stocked with everything you could need and very clean . The neighbors are very close but I guess it’s just a heavy populated area . Close to the beach and eateries . Highly recommend !!

Fabulous accommodation
This was our first time away with our dog and it was such a smooth process thanks to Rob. The backyard was fenced and secure so we always felt safe if we left our dog at home. The house was well equipped and the view of the beautiful trees from the verandah was incredible. Loved hearing all the kookaburras and other birds too! The location itself is extremely close to beaches and supermarkets as well. Rob was a fantastic host, thank you!

Great place for a getaway
Loved staying at the Calypta Retreat. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay, very clean and well set up. It was a great spot and handy to everything, beaches and shops.
