A Delightful Experience
7 of us siblings stayed at the barn. The barn is charming. Full kitchen. Bed linens were great. Beds very comfortable. This is a beautiful property in the country. Thank you!

Hidden gem
We did a fabulous girls weekend here. It’s a wonderful barn. If I had one complaint, it would be the spiral staircase to the second level. It makes it very challenging to carry a suitcase up, and the steeps are also very slippery. I would also note that the two twin beds are in a loft which if you’re going with family members it is open to down below and if you’re using it for children, it will be too noisy for them if you stay awake after they go to bed early

Leslie is a great host!
We stayed at the barn for multiple nights and very much enjoyed it! We had a lot of space in the yard to hang out. Overall we would recommend staying at the barn!

Country Getaway
Enjoyed the unique renovated barn setting. Perfect for our weekend family wedding nearby. Could have used better outside furniture on porch. A little too much of the owners stuff in the house. The coffee machine was nice and very cozy.

I am so sorry you were not happy with the outside furniture. I have Adirondak chairs from Frontgate, recliners, and outside plastic chairs for the fire pit. You are right, the barn has lots of eclectic stuff specifically related to the history of the barn. It's a fine line between portraying the barn's history and too much stuff! Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take it to heart!

Fantastic Stay in Fabulous Renovated Barn for Kenyon graduation (20 minutes away)
Leslie the owner is a delight: accommodating, communicative and conscientious. The Barn was spotless and has a well-equipped kitchen, cozy robes and towel sets thoughtfully laid out in multiple baths. Attractive and eclectic decor with a nod to barn style. Primary bedroom mattress was so comfy! Great common space to relax. We enjoyed the covered porch with pastoral views of the meadows. We had a party of 6 and it worked perfectly for our group ages 21-60.

The perfect place for a memorable experience
This gem located in the heart of Ohio will leave you speechless. Leslie has thought of everything and the attention to detail is something that truly sets this stay apart from others. From a fully equipped luxury kitchen with a grill outside, to the sauna and a bathtub fit for a king (or queen)...to the cozy feel you get from a fire burning in the fireplace as you lounge on the comfiest couch sharing time with friends and loved ones...this is a place perfect for making lasting memories. Leslie was extremely responsive, understanding of our circumstances leading up to the stay, and did everything you could ask of a host. We are extremely grateful to have found this special stay and to have had an exemplary host such as Leslie.

I even got the wood burner checked becaus although I don’t encourage guests to use it, I knew you would be warm in the high ceiling room so it was a go. A lovely stay!
We had a great visit at this property! It was a convenient location for us, as we have family in the surrounding area. The barn is spacious but with a cozy feel and all the renovations they have done are impressive. It is stocked with everything you could want for your stay and then some. We will gladly return again!

Leslie and her barn are just amazing. I’ve been a lot of places and this barn is my second favorite. If you haven’t been there I’d highly recommend it. The barn and everything in it is of the highest quality, and very unique. Leslie is by far the nicest host I’ve talked to we’ve never met face to face but she feels like family.

looking to get away from it all and do nothing and found that "nothing" was "the all" i needed
so comming off a very busy growing season at the vineyard and nursery we work at, with only 2 weeks to ourselves before "wreath season" we were beyond needing to get away. and getting away for us is usually the beach,but my family likes to pride ourselves on doing things diffrent,,break away from "our norm" and i had been looking at The Brn for some time now and just never "took that break from our "norm". so a quick family meeting and we all said we had done nothing different this year,,so the barn was chosen. and the fact that "fur baby's" are allowed,,well enough said, deal DONE! the Barn was exactly as described and then some,, like you get off the highway and drive through some pretty awesome countryside,, peacefull, fresh air,,and blue sky for as far as you can see. This place is a "must see" and "must do" if you want to do "nothing". "nothing" as in do what you want,, wake up fix yourself some good coffee and go out and stand in the lane as the sun comes up,,then wander onto the side pourch and lsiten to the awaken,, the squrills and chipmonks fighting for soybeans and walnuts, the geese in the fields preparing to do whatever it is geese do during the day,, and before yo know it,,it's 11 a.m and you havent even had breakfast. and you never noticed that you do indeed need to eat,,cause there is so much more to do,,thats awaits you in doing "nothing". take a trip down to the alpacca farm,, good products great prices, do to the "pay it forward" store in town,,so worth it,,and go to "the disneyland of ice cream"(as the kids called it" Velvet ice cream. the town of utica is pretty cool. then come back,,plat games in the game room,, make an awesome dinner in the kitchen then ,,even though it was our intention to have a fancy dinner, we all sat on the side pourch and ate. then we walked far ou into the fields and explored as we watched some of the most awesome sunsets ever. BUT be sure to have your fur babys inside by dark,,as the coyotes come running through every night. sooooo cool. we would wait on the porch every night for them to come,,then you would hear them,,it is the most insane noise you ever heard! as they run through the fields and then it just stops!!!! do not be afraid,,they are pretty harmless(i spent years traveling in oregan, washington idaho and montanna,,and i am more afraid of an running elk herd than a coyote). the host are great people,,leave notes and instrutions everywhere,, only thing missing i can think of is an axe,

Great stay for Family Weekend
What a great property! Our family enjoyed our stay while visiting Kenyon College. It's just a short drive to Gambier from the Barn. The property is clean and comfortable with plenty of room for all of us. We love the it is pet friendly. Highly recommend.

Living in the Barn
Awesome property! Very unique and definitely not a "cookie cutter" stay. Leslie was very attentive to every need. She left personal notes and a welcome gift. She also checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was fine. Awesome area to explore (mounds, winery, Granville, Heath, Alligator Mound,). Was a nice place to get away. We had fun visiting our kiddos at Denison. Looking forward to returning...maybe graduation weekend. Very memorable stay.

Amazing Barn!!
Absolutely wonderful property (Barn) - My family and I traveled to Ohio for my son's wedding and chose the property. It is very comfortable, relaxing, and more than we expected. The property is 40 mins from Amish Country - on Saturday we spent the day driving around to Amish shops, flea market, grocery stores, furniture stores, and even rode in an Amish Buggy. The town of Utica is small and very nice with all the things you need; too include the Velvet Ice Cream facotory - a must visit. Leslie was responsive and a pleasure to work with. We will visit again!!!!

The barn is far more beautiful in person than the pictures if you ask us! The atmosphere is very relaxing and the owner Leslie is very generous and kind having left us a lovely bottle of wine as we were celebrating our 21st anniversary. We actually didn’t stay
When we booked this for a birthday party we were amazed at the pictures. The Host is nice and very accommodating, however the pictures and the reality were different, so much so the cousin of the birthday girl said she would miss the party. We had to find another venue. The Host did explain there were things she had hoped to fix before our check in but the way it looked it just wasn’t suitable for our needs. We felt like the pictures were deceiving. We took a loss and that’s our fault because we didn’t see the place well enough in advance to receive a refund. Lesson learned!

No one bothered to answer my offer. You also had the ability to view the barn before the day before the party, so you could make sure it was appropriate. I am sorry for your words, and feel that my prior reviews would suggest that you are just upset with yourselves for not doing your diligence.

VERY "hassle free". 5-stars for communication was for 2 reasons.....1st - No extra communication required. 2nd - EVERYTHING required was VERY well communicated. BUT, some later communications indicated not having the correct phone number for communication, BUT Leslie had EVERYTHING so "turnkey", we needed nothing upon check-in. VERY SEAMLESS. BRAVO.

Great time at beautifully renovated barn
The place was great. Perfect place for a family reunion with our adult children. I would caution anyone with small children that the beautiful spiral staircase would not be safe for them. But if your children are older it is a great place to get together.Lots of games. Kitchen has all the cookware you need for making great meals. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms and showers and towels. If you forget to bring anything Leslie has provided baskets full of toothbrushes, soaps, etc.

Great Easter Weekend Family Retreat

Great place to get away!!
We felt pretty lucky to find this place so close to New Year's for our group of 7! It was beautiful and we had plenty of room to spread out and relax or we could sit together and play games. There are some great local restaurants if you want to go out but everything you could need to cook with is available in the kitchen. We loved the openness of the barn so that whoever was cooking was not separated from conversation. Very glad we were able to get away to say goodbye to a crazy 2020!!

Slice Relaxation
Leslie was a very kind and communicative property owner. She did an amazing job with this barn, it had everything my buddies and I were looking for. Bags set, some nice views, PLENTY of sleeping space, grill, a great game area for cards, and a kitchen that allowed us to chow all weekend long. She answered every question I had and her rules were simple and easy to follow. Loved this place. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a little forested corner of relaxation with some friends! They even have neighbors with dogs who come over and give you some k9 company! Bonus!

Neat Barn
The property was great. The remodel of the barn was done beautifully. The backyard area was relaxing. We loved using the grill and the fire pit. The barn offered enough space for a great Father's Day family get together. Bring drinking water because the well water does have a sulphur smell. Overall, the barn was relaxing and enjoyable and we would love to go back sometime in the winter and be able to use the fire place. The host is hands off but very accessible and checked in to make sure we had what we needed for our stay. I would recommend this to anyone looking in the area and I would stay there again!

Great place in the country!
Great place to get away from the city and spend time with your family or friends. Centrally located between 5 towns for golf, shopping and food. Leslie has everything you need to grill out or cook at this place. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place in the area.

Summer Farm Vacation

loved being in the country
Staying in The Barn was great for our large family that gathered for a larger family reunion in Granville. It is about a 20 minute drive but it is a beautiful drive .We loved the space and the feel of the barn. The kitchen was great, the place was clean and comfortable and we had all we needed. My kids loved the back yard and enjoyed the games that were left for them. I would love to stay here again just to enjoy the quite of the place.

Beautiful updated barn in a quiet country location.
This past weekend our crew of 7 moms stayed at "The Barn" for our college reunion. The owner was gracious and provided us with everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. There were also fresh eggs from the neighbors! We had a wonderful time and if you are looking for a peaceful weekend away, this is the place to stay.

Beautiful property! Loved our visit!
When you step inside the barn, you definitely forget you are in a barn. It has been renovated with such attention to details. The dry sauna in the upstairs bathroom is a nice touch. The barn is so spacious, that my husband, myself and our two teenagers were able to spread out, with plenty of room to spare. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the breakfast table and being able to see the squirrels and bunnies outside on the patio. Wild turkeys also came by. Leslie thought of everything when furnishing this property; we were in need of nothing. She was only a phone call away if something was needed. Thanks for a wonderful vacation rental, if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be staying here.

Lovely spacious spot out in the woods/plains
Our family celebrated our son's college graduation and were very comfortable in the spacious barn appointed with a beautiful kitchen and creative comfy layout. We were very involved with the college graduation activities so did not spend too much time in the barn. However, the time we were present, it was a homey oasis to return to and enjoy our family together. This place made our celebration more special. Birthday surprise weekend made the weekend perfect. Private, but close to major cities for food n fun. We are already making plans to return. Beautiful country setting. Thumbs up!!!!

Restored Barn that lives up to Listing
Leslie was super helpful and accommodating during and after our rental. Large open family room area and kitchen with a modern take. A large loft area with sleeping and tv room is available but we never left the living room couch to enjoy it. The property is very cool and is definitely distinct from the neighbors, so it was very easy to locate from the direction provided. A nice place to enjoy a relaxing weekend.

Great stay!
My family and I had a great weekend staying at this barn!! We had a family wedding and needed somewhere to stay nearby. The concept of the refurbished barn is charming and unique. Everything was neat and clean. The shower in the master bedroom is very cool- I don't believe it's pictured in the listing. This is a great place to stay for anyone who can appreciate the beauty and seclusion of the countryside. There are 2 or 3 nearby houses but other than that you're pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Do note that there is well water. Upon arrival the well water had a bad smell to it, but once it had ran through long enough the smell went away. However this can be expected wherever there's well water. (The shower water didn't have any smell to it at all- just the sink water- not sure why.) We had a bonfire one night and enjoyed being set far away from the city. The kitchen area is well stocked with cooking supplies/pans and sheets, towels and soap are all provided. This made it easy to show up with personal items and not have to worry about finer details. It's about 20 minutes from a grocery store, so we stopped on the way for groceries. The owner was kind enough to leave a bottle of wine for us and also had more wine available for purchase. The owner, Leslie, was very easy to work with and was very open to suggestions! Thanks for a great stay!
