Special mention to Alex and Anita for making the surprise 60th work so well. It was a truly memorable day. The pool was brilliant, safe for our grandchildren and everyone else. "We loved the feeling of this place, as soon as we drove up the driveway. Everything about it was beautiful and I actually cried on the day we had to leave..... The accommodation was perfect for the three of us, me, my Husband and our Hungarian Vizsla, Hudson. We enjoyed the pool, walks around the stunning grounds, the views, the river access...... We even stayed an extra night, of which the hosts were great! We'll be re-booking again soon. So glad we found this unique little sanctuary of peace...

Lady next door selling local cognac was very friendly. At night the sky was so dark, excellent for stargazing. The river charente is lovely for swimming in. Super!"

"Our stay at Robert’s house far exceeded our expectations. The house is truly beautiful and it was well equipped for our large party. The pool area was a welcome relief from the heat and the shaded area meant we could use it even at the hottest part of the day. There are many beautiful towns around but the house was so nice we found it hard to leave! Robert was a pleasure to deal with and he made a point of not being intrusive but was always available if we needed him. I would have no hesitation...

"We have had a lovely week at this house. The pool and garden were great for children and we spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying this space. The local host Lucy was super helpful and quick to address any queries/ minor issues we had. Lovely picturesque area to cycle around. "Wonderful Chateau in Cognac area. Probably 10,000 sq ft with large grounds and a pool. Enjoyed evenings in the courtyard enjoying local wines and during the days touring several of the small local cognac cellars."

"We had been looking forward to returning to Cognac for a few years. Penny and Tony's house didn't disappoint! Surrounded by vineyards, you couldn't hope for a more peaceful location. There was a large garden for our cocker spaniel and children to roam in and a very pleasant pool with all the necessary pool toys and inflatables provided. "A wonderful holiday home, beautifully modernised and renovated, everything you could ever need is catered for - even down to bluetooth speakers (x3), yoga mats, air conditioning in two rooms (though house very cool in July), and the fridge has ice machine and ice cold water. "The hotel islocated in an old abbey but the inside apartments are modern, comfortable and clean. The kitchen and supplies are perfect for a simple meal and breakfast to save money if on a budget. The bathroom was spacious for European standards and the bed very comfortable. "
