"Watton Cottage" Bathurst

Located in a secluded valley on the Macquarie River, "Watton Cottage" offers comfortable and relaxing accommodation, and has everything you need.

Soak up the clean air and impressive views across the valley and take advantage of the private access to the Macquarie River for a picnic, go fishing, watch the abundant bird life, go fossicking or go for a stroll along the walking trails. You might be lucky enough to see the resident platypus or families of rock wallabies and wallaroos. After the sun goes down, sit on the verandah and marvel and the clear night skies.

There's a 100 acres to explore, kids love the space and freedom to run, roam and explore safely.

The cottage is 50 metres from the main homestead and has privacy surrounded by a rambling cottage garden.

Just 2 1/2 hrs from Sydney, 20 minutes from Bathurst and 45 minutes from Orange, "Watton Cottage" is ideal to access all the local attractions.

Visit the National Motor Racing Museum and do a lap around Mt Panorama, check out the TRex dinosaur up close and personal at the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum. Visit the recently completed adventure playground at Victoria Park - WOW, there's a flying fox, maze, great climbing web and much more.

Or if you want that relaxing quiet weekend away, try out the local cafes such as the Hub, Porter's and the Cobblestone Lane Restaurant - yum! Visit the boutique wineries and the Bathurst Farmers' Markets is a must - only the best fresh local seasonal produce direct from the growers is available.

ACCOMMODATION

The Cottage is self catering and can sleep up to seven people.

There are two bedrooms - 1 queen bed in the main bedroom, and 1 queen bed and 3 single beds in a large second bedroom - great for families or groups. A portable cot is also available.

All linen and towels are supplied.

What a great weekend we had. The cottage was great, clean and had great views. We loved to stay here and would highly recommend. My daughter loved playing with the dog Dougie and we enjoyed a walk down to the river where he came with us. Was the perfect escape from the city.

Little piece of bush paradise
From booking to check in to check out the process was effortless. This quaint cottage is in a stunning location, the hosts were wonderful, kind and accommodating. The little snack treats & milk were a lovely touch (the kids loved them thank you & I needed a cuppa after a long drive) and full bucket of wood for the fire, heater turned on before we arrived. Very clean, everything we could possibly need was there for us. Kids loved playing fetch with the resident dogs, playing cards with the ones they found in the cupboard, talking to the pigs and watching for Kangaroo's. Our trip was too short and busy to truly enjoy all this beautiful property had to offer. We would definitely love to visit again. Highly recommend this cottage & its lovely hosts.

Tranquil retreat
Dear Susan & Chris, We made a late decision to go to the Bathurst Liquimoly 12 hour race and found your lovely cottage on Stayz. Confirming and paying for the booking was simple. The instructions given were spot on and easy to follow. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. The tranquility of the farm and the surrounding area was just wonderful and a refreshing contrast to the relative hustle and bustle of Bathurst during race weekend. Warming up to your wonderful pot belly stove on unseasonably cool summer nights was great. Would love to come back again with my kids. Regards, Tony Zaknic

A great get-away in the country.
If you want to get away from the city, then this is the place. We had a fully furnished house in a quiet retreat about 20mins out of Bathurst. Susan was very welcoming and willingly accommodated some changes we needed to make due to family commitments.

Very quiet location away from the business of town.
Cottage well away from town. Very peaceful, clean and well equipped. Hosts live close by and and were very friendly. Felt like you were on a farm as you can see the sheep in the paddock from the lounge window. The river is a short walk down the hill from cottage. Overall a nice place to stay if you want to just relax. We stayed with our family in one room and grand parents used main room which worked well .
