Overall, the house and property was nice and the location was ideal with views of Boldt Castle and the large ships on the River. However, there were a few minor issues ... one was with the cleanliness, we had to wipe down some areas of dust and dead bugs (A/C units, sinks, light fixtures), and had bath rugs that were still wet and soiled. Our kids also found whole eggs and egg shells scattered in the backyard and there was some litter e.g. corks, tobacco tin around the fire pit. There was also an incident on the first night with one of the bunk beds where one of the slats on a top bunk fell off and hit the person sleeping on the bottom bunk; I believe the slat is a bit short and probably should be replaced with a longer one to avoid a serious accident from possibly happening. Another thing to note was although it was mentioned that the house has A/C, it wasn't in all the bedrooms. Two bedrooms did not have an A/C unit, but did have a desk fan. Thankfully, the evenings were cool during our stay. The house in some spots needs a little TLC and repair i.e. holes in the ceiling in some closets to make it look better and living room TV wall bracket needs to be a bit more secured/attached to the TV or else it's going to fall off. Now even with all that being said, our family did have an enjoyable and relaxing time, and Michael was very responsive to all our questions. House amenities were plentiful, the views from the upstairs was exceptional and we enjoyed playing in the backyard and using the fire pit in the evenings (fyi, firewood not provided and bring ThermaCell or mosquito repellent). We even saw a doe and her fawn several times in the mornings. The location was private and convenient to get to the State Park, shuttle for Bold Castle, and to make short trips to Price Chopper, Clayton, and Alexandria Bay. All in all, we would recommend this property to friends and family.
