A decent budget resort with friendly staff. Lots of building work still going on in the area but it's not too disruptive. Two brown outs but no generator back up.

Worst experience ever. Dirty, stinky, smelly place with health and safety hazards. Never ever stayed in such horrible conditions as this place. It is in the middle of a construction site. There is no access to the beach. There is no running hot water, AC is from the 60s, emitting a foul smell when is on, windows don’t open, power outage is normal. You fear for your life staying here, don’t waste your money.

Loved the quiet location but close enough to walk to busy white sand beach. Nearby convenience store, neighborhood pub with good food. Staff were excellent and our room was clean. My wife enjoyed the kitchen to cook her native foods. Hot showers and a good ac were appreciated. Great walking beach.

Electricity was on and off the 4days we stayed. They advertised near beach but the beach was strewn with construction equipment. No real beach area. Had to walk to get to beach.

The only positive thing is that this hotel is close to kitesurfing schools and beach Negatives: the streets leading to hotel were full with sewerage water for the 8 days I was there, matress with no springs and uncomfortable, first night had a close by party and I couldn’t sleep

Hello Ahmed, Thank you and we appreciate your feedback for Reef Retreat Resort and apologies for any negative experience that you feel you had. However we feel that giving us 1 out of 5 is unfair. It is noted that you were upset with the hotel because they refused to give you a refund for the first night that you failed to show up. You missed your flight which meant you missed your first nights stay. This is not the hotels fault. Regarding your other comments we would like to let you know that the road to the hotel is already scheduled for repair and this is beyond our control. However, the local government of Aklan is now taking action to solve this matter. Upon checking with the resort, they provided a room with King Size bed for you and not a mattress only. With regards to the noise, we are sorry about this but the property would have been very happy if you raised this problem during your stay so we can call or advise our neighbor to minimize the sound. The staff were very helpful and the accommodation was very nice. It was directly next to a beach, but this time of year is rather windy on this side and was used for kite surfing. The white sand relaxing beaches are on the other side of the island but this is only a 15 minute walk or 5 minute tuk tuk ride to station 1 beach. Our stay at Reef Retreat was very pleasant but there was a couple of power outages that was not really acknowledged or explained. I would recommend this accommodation if you would like a clean, modern, quiet location that is not on the main tourist area.

Worst resort stay in Boracay
Our worst 4-night stay in Boracay. We selected the resort for their purported garden setting but which turned out to be a poorly maintained and uneven patch of grass. Hotel entrance was not lit and security guard was stationed inside the resort instead of at entrance. Aircondition was noisy n heater did not work in first room. Overall a very disappointing experience

The resort is amazing. The staff are so nice and helpful. Room cleaned every day. The only thing is they do not have a generator. We stayed here for a week and in that time the electricity in Boracay went off 3 times. This is very common in Boracay. Nearly everywhere else, even the worst of accommodations had a generator but we were in darkness with a cold shower and no aircon/fan. We spent one night getting ready in the dark with just a little torch. We paid a lot of money to stay here and would expect better facilities. Other than that the place is perfect. Its only a 10 minute walk to White Beach and it is nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of it.

Had a great week here the staff were all great rooms were big and bath room was big plenty hot water. Wifi didn't work for me. Not far from main beachfront. Will stay again suited us.

the wonderful experience at reef retreat resort
i went to boracay phillipines last september 2015 with my friends. We had a alot of activities there and all we need was a great good rest after all those hectic day. Thanks to reef retreat resort we got all that. The service was very good, fast and helpfull. The staff are very friendly and pretty. I recomend this reef retreat resort to anyone that visits boracay!

We stayed at Reef Retreet for 5 nights. It is great to be far from the crowd yet walking distance. Generally employee is very nice. No shampoo or body gel. Not impressed.

Amazing Location, Don't hesitate to stay here!
The stay was absolutely incredible. I arrived early to Caticlan airport at 6:30 am and decided to use the resorts airport transportation as I did not want to have to think after a long day of traveling. The staff was amazing, arrived to pick me up on time and even allowed my to check in to the resort early (with a small fee-which was well worth it.) The grounds of the resort were very nice, it was clean and on Bulabog beach (few steps from the door to the beach). The walk to White Beach takes only 10 minutes so not a bad walk at all. I was scheduled to only stay at Reef Retreat for two days until my friends arrived but after those two days I ended up extending my stay with them for the rest of the week. The staff went above and beyond what they needed to, to ensure my stay was enjoyable and it was much appreciated. I will definitely be staying here again when I return to Boracay. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ... OH and try the Blind Massage, freaking AWESOME!

We reach there around 7pm and we are scared by the journey from the jetty to the hotel, small roads with very few light along the road, everything is so dark and quiet. But the room was so well decorated with a balcony, until the next morning I am so impressed by the garden, and just a small walk away the Bulabog Beach is right in front with so many water activities going on there. Definitely worth it!

Reef Retreat was an excellent experience, the staff was egar to assist on any accomodations, and each day they made a different animal design from the bathroom towels, my fiancé was pleased with the rooms and quiet setting.

Chose this as it was the quiet side of Boracay but 5 minutes walk from Station 2 and all main parties and clubs where the action was. Good to go back to sleep on the quiet side after long noisy parties!!

Went for the kiting so the location next to Bulabog beach was ideal. As an added bonus i was very pleased I stayed away from White beach as its a little too busy for my taste. If you are looking for a quieter location but within 10mins walk of the carnage this is a great option.

Perfect spot
We really enjoyed our stay at Reef retreat. So peaceful, yet only a 10 minute walk to the main White beach and all the action. It is right on Bulabog beach but the wind on this side of the island make it ideal for kite surfing but not much else. Rooms were lovely and service was excellent.

I've stayed for 14 nights and enjoyed it a lot. Very friendly staff and nice rooms were above expectations. Coupled with location this place will the best choice at least for kitesurfers.

This was a great little place, very friendly welcoming. Great location if your looking to go kite surfing, and its only 5-10 minute walk through to White beach. Was very nice to be able to enjoy the nightlife of White Beach and then go back to the resort where it was extremely quite and relaxing. The rooms were in very good condition, very clean due to them being cleaned every day. Staff always had a smile and happy to help. Would definetly stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Reef Resort Retreat, all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help with our enquiries. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard and was extremely comfortable. The location was perfect as we were just a short walk away from the main white beach area but enjoyed the peace and quite at night. A great resort which we would strongly recommend.

Hidden gem
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in August and had a wonderful time. The hotel rooms were beautiful, with flower petals on the bed when we arrived. Everything was clean and under control. The receptionist and owners were extremely helpful in answering our questions and it showed that they truly cared and enjoyed their jobs. Would highly recommend to anyone considering staying here. Also, although its far from white beach (20 min walk) it offers an escape from the chaos and crowds. It's also only a 60 peso tricycle ride away, which is very cheap.

The reef retreat resort was wonderful, extremely friendly and very helpful staff, clean, good view. No breakfast but that was only downside but it didn't matter too much. 10min walk to white beach which is better than the beach this hotel is on and its close to the shops and mall. Would definetly recommend it and stay there again. A totally wonderful stay

We stayed at 3 different hotels in Boracay, from the cheapest one available to Shangri-La - and actually this was the one the we were the most satisfied with. OK, you don't have a swimming pool, but Bulabog beach is 10 meters away. You don't have a fancy room, but you have all that you need (and a bit more). Missing shower gel by the way! And when you're first staying here, stop by the Pow streetbar (junglebar) on your way over to White beach and try their Pow burger!

Fantastic hotel in the wrong area
If you don't mind the walk/ride trough a broken down and shady area, this place is a gem. Friendly staff, beautiful and peaceful courtyard, comfortable room and a low price. The only downside is the distance from white beach, which is where all the action is on Boracay.

Reef Retreat Resort is on Bulabog Beach. There is no swimming on Bulabog Beach. Bulabog Beach is used as a base for water activities. It is filled with boats. A 10 minute ride by "tricycle" (a motorcycle with a sidecar attached) to D*Mall (the main shopping street in Boracay at Station 2, White Beach) is $1.20. It is a 5 minute walk on D*Mall to White Beach at Station 2. White Beach, a magnificent beach, is subdivided into 3 zones called Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3. These odd names are used because in the past there were 3 boat stations at these locations. The names stuck. Station 2 is the best part of White Beach and is the center of action in Boracay. The staff was very courteous and pleasant. The room was cleaned and fresh linens were provided every day. I thought the air at Reef Retreat was much better than the air where the hotels were located on White Beach. Reef Retreat is very quiet. All you will get during your stay is a room with a terrace. The word "Resort" in the name is not descriptive of the property . If you like night life you can always get back to the hotel no matter how late you stay out---tricycles run 24x7. We plan to stay at Reef Retreat Resort again. The price cannot be beat and the overall experience is very positive.

Me and my friend stayed for 10 days at this hotel in the beginning of low season. We enjoyed it so much and felt right at home with the warm welcome we got from sweet Charlotte in the reception.They have comfy beds and big bathrooms. It was a quiet retreat from the noice at White beach. It's only a 10min walk to White beach were all the happening is.

Great place and wonderful people. In my opinion this is the best side of the island as you are close to everything but away from the crowd. White beach is a 5 minute (safe ) walk but if you are doing Boracay right it should take you 10 as you will be soooooo relaxed and walking like a snail. There is no pool but the sea is at the end of the garden and only weird people play in pools on Boracay... you will understand when you see the sea The only small consideration is the internet which when i was there was poor so if its important to you just ask them before they book. They are good people and will tell you if they have fixed it or not but even if they haven't there is so many good internet cafes near and it saves you carrying a laptop. I will come back to this hotel..... its great

Excellent Boracay resort
An excellent Boracay resort, a stones through from Bulabog beach for kitesurfers & only 5 minutes by trike (or 15 minute walk) to white beach, D'Mall, tons of restaurants & shops. The owners & staff are very attentive to their guests & knowledgeable about the island. This was our second visit to the island & Reef Retreat and all of our fond memories & expectations for a fun time were matched once again.
