Front door locked and didn’t know how to get in… had to call manager after hours and they were upset that we didn’t know to use our key… first time doing that and was yelled at in German 😊

Used a key for the first time. Seriously? Otherwise, the manager didn't shout, but spoke loudly, since the guest kept asking questions and one could get the impression that one was poorly understood.

Great find in Rudesheim!
The hotel was spotless, service was excellant, and the staff was extremely friendly snd helpful. They shared lots of brochures and information about things to do plus gave dinner suggestions. The location is great, just a few blocks from the Christmas markets, all the restaurants and other shopping. The breakfast buffet consisting of eggs, several warm and cold meats, cheeses, breads, yogurts, fruits, sweets, etc. was tasty as well as plentiful. Rudesheim is a great little town, plenty to do in the town plus a good base for day trips. Wonderful find!

A lovely quaint hotel in the middle of Old Town. Close to everything!! Shows great care and attention to detail by the owners and staff. Decorated amazingly for Easter. Beds comfy, rooms and bathrooms pristine. Fabulous German buffet breakfast included in picturesque dining room. If I could wish for one thing a small courtyard area to sit in would be the icing on the cake! But a hidden gem this place!!

Splendid stay in Rudesheim
Great stay. Lovely family. Fabulous breakfast every day. The only suggestion would be for a comfortable chair/small sofa in the room for a relaxing evening.

what can I say? The location was great.
The hotel was average and I would not stay here again. We had no water in the shower the first night because something was blocked, and the second night the water was running but it was ice cold because there was another problem that couldn't be fixed on the weekend. You would have thought they would offer another room? NOT. The number of ducks (wooden, plastic, glass, pewter....you name it!) they have placed throughout the hotel is too much of a good thing. They must number in the thousands.

Love this hotel
This was our fourth stay at the Trapp, as always we received a warm welcome. The room was lovely and the restaurant food second to none! Brillant location , close to drosselgasse, but far enough away from being disturbed by revellers.

We only stayed for one evening as a layover on our way to Dijon, but I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean and nicely located. Dinner in the restaurant, while a little expensive, was delicious and well worth it. My only negative comment was the lack of air conditioning and a temperature in the high 90s, but this is typical for many European hotels so I cannot hold that against them!

Great location and friendly service
My wife and I booked this hotel last minute (2 days earlier) for a weekend bike trip. When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile. The staff was extremely friendly and spoke English. There was plenty of car parking next to the hotel and underneath in a garage. There was also an area in the underground garage to lock up our bikes. The room was very clean. The bathroom was modern. There is an elevator. Our room was on the 1st floor (2nd for you Americans) on the street side, but noise was not a problem. This hotel is just a block away from the town square, and it is in the quieter direction, which is good. It is walking distance to all the sites. Also, Netto Supermarket is about 5 minute walk in the direction opposite the city center. The only strange thing was a swarm of flies outside the hotel building (on the street) between the entrance and the parking garage. I don't know what that was about, but it didn't affect the stay at all.

Hotel is clean,well located and away from trains. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK but I would skip it next time. The pillows were hard and that was really the only complaint I had with the room.I would stay there again for a good price

We stayed here 2 nights in October 2011. Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was a good size, and very clean and comfortable. The hotel is 2 mins from the centre of town, and MOST importantly away from the railway! Rudesheim is a very nice small town, and good base for short Rhine cruises, but don't book a hotel on the water-front - freight trains pass by every few mins, all day long! This hotel is in perfect location. Recommended.

Wonderful Innkeeper
The Innkeeper was very accomodating and helped us find our way around. Parking was free and breakfast was very good. There is no A/C here, so prepare to sweat if it's hot and humid

Good Location
We've been to Ruedesheim many times and this is the best hotel we've had to date. Location is good - near everything, but not as noisy as are the hotels right on the Rhein or along the Drosselgasse. Nicely appointed lobby and restaurant (the theme is ducks and they are EVERYWHERE!!) Good food. The rooms are nice but not fancy - we'll stay here again.

Great location - great wine stand!
This charming hotel in Rudesheim am Rhein was just far enough away from the train tracks so that we did not hear them roar by in the middle of the night as often happens in the Rhein valley. The room was one of the Superiors and had a nice sitting area with a table and larger bathroom. The blinds were controlled electronically and the stained glass windows in the room were charming. The hotel itself definitely had ducks as its mascot and they were *everywhere*. Seriously – the kitsch was almost over the top. Inside the rooms, however, we could only find one duck decoration and were thankful for that. Breakfast was lovely – with breads, meats, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cheeses, fresh fruits, granola, a variety of juices, and an individual coffee carafe. The breakfast staff were very helpful and did a good job of maintaining the buffet with lots of good choices. Checkout and in were positive experiences, if after about a five minute delay. The hotel was situated near the little piazza in the center of town near a fountain. We enjoyed tasting local wines sold by a vendor who is exchanged once a week on Thursdays, giving everyone an equal chance at the wine-drinking tourists and locals. The two reislings we had cost a mere 2.60 euro total! It was excellent wine too so don’t miss it!

Outstanding!
We were six friends traveling through Germany and had heard of the charm of Rudesheim. Bruehls Hotel Trapp added to the charm in many ways, including the proximity to all the sites. The staff was very accomodating to us non-German speakers, explaining everything with patience. The rooms were charming, clean and well-equipped. The night we arrived, it was late and we had planned to venture out for dinner. It was raining, so we reluctantly stayed at Bruehls for dinner. We were treated to the best of our trip (food, atmosphere, excellent house wine, service). We highly recommend this lovely hotel and will treasure the memories. If you have the chance, request a room on the corner of the hotel that includes a sitting area and air conditioning.

Restful Location
We needed a place close to Frankfurt to rest up before flying to West Africa. The Hotel Trapp was easily accessible by train from the airport, comfortable, quiet and a notch above the functional airport vicinity hotels. Ruedesheim offers pleasant village strolls. We were coping with lost luggage and the hotel was very helpful. Great breakfast as well.

Dejligt ophold på Hotel Trapp
Et fint og flot renoveret hotel ved Rhinen. Værelserne i høj standard og med flotte badeværelser og med klima anlæg, hvilket var dejligt med en temperatur på 30 grader. Hotellet har egen parkering på siden af huset - dejligt nemt. Restauranten var så besøgt, at vi måtte bestille bord i forvejen!!! Grunden hertil var ganske enkelt, at maden var af en kvalitet som det er meget svært at finde i Tyskland og der var dejlig vin hertil. Vi spiste en dag på den efter sigende bedste restaurant i byen og det var faktisk en skuffelse i forhold til vores hotel Trapp. Betjeningen var primært søde unge piger, der klarede alt med et smil. Ejerinden var allesteds nærværende og meget hjælpsom. Det undrer mig faktisk, at det ikke er et fire stjernes hotel, for jeg syntes at det har alle kvaliteterne herfor. Hvis I kommer i nærheden af Rüdesheim, så und Jer selv et ophold på Hotel Trapp. Mvh Marianne og Bent.

Das Hotel kann man nur weiterempfehlen. Super Lage, freundlicher Service und Zimmer teilweise mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Parkplatz am Hotel und öffentlicher Parkplatz fußläufig.
