Luxury for 6 on the Edge of Traverse City

Enjoy an intimate experience with nature and all the amenities of a luxury resort yet only minutes away from Traverse City's finest restaurants, beaches, wineries, shopping, and golf. Only 3 miles from the Great Lakes Equestrian Show (also called Traverse City Horse Show) and 1.5 miles from Turtle Creek Casino.

Our dome-homes have 780 sq. ft. of living space with majestic views. That's over twice the square footage of an average hotel room. The dome-home is spacious with a 13' tall ceiling. Enjoy a private bathroom complete with a bathtub/shower, vanity, & toilet, kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, & hot plate. AC & Heat.

This Geodesic Dome Home sleeps six and features a handcrafted king-size barnwood bed with views of the surrounding pristine forest. A dividing wall separates the bedroom spaces. On the backside of the wall are two, twin-over-twin bunk beds. These bunk beds are made from solid wood timbers and are capable of holding adults on either the bottom or top. There is a private, indoor bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom has a full-size tub and shower.

Outside you will find a second bathtub. This outdoor bathtub is private and positioned so you can enjoy a relaxing bath while listening to the relaxing sounds of nature. In addition, there is a private firepit, barbeque, and hammock. We provide one complimentary bundle of firewood for each day booked.

With 75 acres of private land surrounded by state land on three sides, you will have access to miles of trails for hiking and birding. Pine, cedar, spruce, and cherry trees provide a natural privacy barrier from neighboring accommodations. Neighboring accommodations range from 80' to 200' away. Please be careful driving in or out in the evening as there is an abundance of deer and other wildlife in the area. We seek to provide you with a unique, intimate interaction with nature, yet you are only a few miles away from the best of Traverse City.

Wonderful glamping experience
It was a beautiful location that was well maintained. Property management thought of everything including bug spray and air fresheners for the bathroom. The dome was a great temperature and would definitely stay again.

There's no place like dome
These geodesic domes-in-the woods are cozy and fun. Our dome (#7) looked out at a couple of gorgeous maple trees at their peak of color (mid-October), plus lots of pines and birches for a complete forest feel. Although Silver Birches was completely booked on a couple of nights we were there, we never saw any other people during our entire stay. Rob is a super-responsive host, and his business partner Mark lives on-site, so help is never far away. I am the type of person who is suspicious of too many 5-star ratings for any property, but this place merits such a rating in our book!

Awesome stay!
Very unique place to stay. The property is remote, secluded and quiet. Everything was SUPER clean and decorated so nicely. The perfect place to have a nice cozy and relaxing getaway! Be careful with the bed-it’s insanely comfortable and once you’re in it- you might not want to get back out! We are already planning our next visit!

Wonderful Place!
This was a wonderful place to stay! Secluded with breathtaking views. You can tell a lot of thought went into everything; from the welcome email with great instructions for getting there and recommendations of things to do to the welcome basket. The dome and bathhouse were very clean and well maintained. It had all amenities needed, and then some. The s’mores basket and wine were a sweet little touch as well. We definitely enjoyed our time, and plan to come back again!

Weekend getaway
I was very impressed with this property. The landscaping around the geodomes, outdoor space and indoor space was all designed and decorated tastefully. Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoor. Just about everything we needed was provided which made packing and planning for this trip super simple. At first I was a little nervous about the two seperate buildings, but it functioned well. The only hiccup was we got a rain storm our last morning there, so packing and moving between the geodome and permanent building was a little tricky and we got a soaking. It still was a great time to just relax and enjoy a quiet space between our trips to neighboring towns and downtown Traverse City. This location was in close proximity to so many fun options but got you away from the bussle of downtown Traverse. We would love to visit again.

Fantastic Getaway Place
Fantastic getaway place. Staying in the dome was lots of fun and also very comfortable. Decor was beautiful. Kitchen/bath building was adequate. Only downside is having to go outside for a couple of steps between buildings, esp. in the rain. But the peace and quiet are worth it. And it's only 10 minutes or so to Traverse City. Host Rob was extremely helpful and it had all the amenities we needed.

Great stay
This was our first glamping experience. I must say everything was squeeky clean, organized and well thought out for a family. Also the bathroom was very clean, with plenty of towels and soap. We will definitely come back sometime in the near future.

A wonderful way to experience Traverse City!
Only a short drive from Traverse City, the Dome Home's at Silver Birch were top notch! The bed was so comfortable, the view was incredible, and having the cabin with mini kitchen and full bath was the icing on the cake. We spent our 30th anniversary there, and would spend many more in the future!

Our family really enjoyed our stay. It’s fun, well-decorated and designed. Kids enjoyed open space and we loved the peacefulness. Relaxing for sure. We appreciated the nearby trails with help from staff, which really made for a special time for us there. Thank you!

Anniversary Retreat
This place was beautiful, super clean, extremely comfortable, and relaxing. We loved having so much private outdoor space and the openness of the view from the bed out to nature was magical. It was the perfect place to unwind and decompress between adventures and good food in Traverse City. The owners attention to detail made it feel homey.

Fantastic
Our stay was above our expectations. Rob was a wonderful host and we had a great time. Their attention to detail and eagerness to ensure your stay is nothing but 10/10, meant a lot. We stayed for 4 days/3 nights. It was myself, husband and our two kids, along with their two cousins. We had plenty of room. We will definitely be back and recommend to our friends and family!
