This is a really interesting property--built fairly recently but designed and decorated to look and feel like old Europe, and it successfully gives that feeling! The accompanying wine tasting and continental breakfast were both excellent, the linens and bedding were very comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive. This was a great location for a short getaway!

This was a wonderfully quaint inn. I loved the decor in all the spaces. Front desk was friendly, and check-in was easy. We needed to do some laundry as we are on vacation, and the machines were newer and efficient. Our bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was quite good. The inn was convenient to Jamestowne Settlement, our destination. I would definitely stay there again.

This is such a unique place. The staff is AMAZING! SO friendly. It's a very quiet hotel with beautiful grounds to walk around. A great breakfast with great coffee, comfy beds, and wonderful location. Highly recommend.

First off, I believe this property was very nice when it was built in the early 2000’s. However, it is showing its age from what me and family experienced whilst staying here. We stayed for 3 nights in the Burgundy room and noticed many “quick fixes” in the room which made it feel like a cheap hotel. Also, the TV had to be from 2006 ish and was a “dumb” TV. I haven’t seen one in quite some time. Furthermore, the area where the room is located is very noisy due to it being right off the lobby on the second floor. In addition, the floors in the hallway were very creaky and we could hear when someone was walking in the hallway. Moving on, the pool area and cafe had the same maintenance “quick fixes” as the rest of the hotel. Overall the location is nice but the building needs some TLC to bring it up to standards of the rate they are charging. Lastly, the grounds were nice but I was disappointed that the tavern closed at 3pm on weekdays.

The property is quiet and quite large. The breakfast is good and consistent. All staff that I encountered are very friendly and helpful. There was some age of the building to be seen such as cracked tiles and molding that could be reattached. Overall, would stay here again if in the area.

Our stay was fine until we returned to our room and saw that housekeeping came in the room, gave us new washcloths, and nothing else. Although we were instructed to leave towels we anted replaced on the floor, when we did this, housekeeping chose to leave the towels there and not replace them. Housekeeping also chose not to make the bed. The next morning when we complained at checkout, we were told that the bed was not made because we left items on the bed. Nothing was left on the bed, but even if we had left items on the bed, it does not explain why they would not replace the towels, or at a minimum, pick them off the floor. The front desk justified this unacceptable situation by calling it an “oversight.” Unfortunately, we were the only guests of color during our stay and cannot definitively say that our treatment was because of our color, but it certainly felt that way. We really wanted to like this property, but we certainly will never return.
