It was a great location. As others have said it could use a bit of update. Little things would would make a big difference- some paint chipping off- some carpet worn in spots. But a great price and a great location. I was a bit nervous after dark- but they would have to do a lot of lighting to correct that. I would stay their again.

Location was just what we were looking for but it was a little hard to find. Only one small sign on the building and it had an even smaller sign stating that you had to check into the Hilton down the street which was inconvenient. Parking was in a lot down the street and you could only access the building from the alley. There wasn't even a door to enter from the street. All in all, the room was spacious, clean, and had a nice view with a balcony but had a very odd layout.

This is my fourth stay at Hampton Inn-Wrightsville Beach and I continue to be thoroughly satisfied with my total experience start to finish. It's a real plus to have a stop-light at the entryway because the hotel is located off a very busy street that leads directly to the beach. I always enjoy their little breakfast and coffee in the morning and they offer a wide variety of items to choose from - everything from cereal and fruit, yogurt, making your own waffles, bagels, toast, eggs and a meat item. What a pleasure to not have to venture out first thing in the morning just to have breakfast! There's a small bar off the lobby that's very nice and a very pretty garden area off the pool. The staff is always friendly and helpful and my room has always been very clean. This will be the place I stay when I go back to Wrightsville Beach to visit.

we really enjoyed the hotel and our 5 year old daughter loved picking up seashells on the beach in front of the hotel.
The only thing that we didn't care for was the stinky water coming out of every faucet and toilet. It just smelled of bad ocean and fish stench, I'm sure it's to be expected being on the beach. I will definitely recommend and go back there in the near future.

Hotel is ocean-front and across the street from the sound. Rooms have been cosmetically updated and are beautiful, but rooms needs structural updating to earn higher rating. Bathroom is extremely small with dated toilet, tub/shower, fixtures. Shower head was mounted so high on wall that I felt I couldn't get strong water pressure at my height (5'6").

We stayed here while visiting the UNCW campus. It is very close to campus (and even more so if you take the "back" way. Walking distance of several restaurants. Quiet although our room was right at the elevator. We will take again when we return.
