Beautifully Restored Coach House In Woodlands Overlooking the Suir Estuary

The Coach House which is situated in Woodstown, is on the beautiful Suir river estuary in Co. Waterford, Ireland. It is located in 4 acres of quiet woodlands just five minutes walk from Woodstown and Forenaught beaches and only ten minutes drive from the picturesque fishing village of Dunmore East. Whether you want a hideaway for a quiet week or two, to write or paint or walk or do nothing, or if you wish to base yourself in a centrally located coastal area ideally positioned for local touring, this is the place for you.
The restoration and refurbishment of the Coach House at Mount Alto was completed in 2008 to a very high quality standard of finish which is maintained by continuous improvement. The unit is heated by oil-fired under floor heating. Water heating is by central heating and electric immersion heater. An external enclosed private patio is accessible from the lower living area. Broadband internet (Wi-Fi) is provided free for normal internet usage. The accommodation is a smoke free zone. Also we regret that we are unable to cater for pets.
There is a 7 night minimum for bookings during high season, ie. June to September. For the reminder of the year, a 3 night minimum booking applies.

A place to feel home

Brendan and Jean's Coach House is fantastic. It is in an absolutely peaceful location. Only the birds can be heard. Everything is clean and very lovingly furnished. It is equipped with everything you could want and need. The welcome was very warm and attentive. Thank you for the starter pack with the delicious wine and homemade bread. We really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect stay

The location is stunning, the house is quaint & spotless and is fully equipped with everything you could need for a perfect stay. Brendan & Jean were perfect hosts & were nearby for any assistance. To top it all off there was a fabulous welcome pack of delicious homemade bread and assorted essentials.

Lovely relaxing stay

We felt at home straight away...cleanliness and comfort were better than other stays in the area we have stayed in before. We would definitely go back and stay in the future. Brendan and Jean were lovely hosts and we appreciated the lovely welcome of home made bread and lots of other treats we found when we arrived.

Great Ireland Holiday

We've stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this stay was the best. Spoiled with homemade bread and a gift of wine along with grocery staples to get us started for our two weeks. Loved the location and advice for local outings.

You MUST book this place if you thinking about it!

Brendan and Jean are what booking private places so great! Everything was just as described in listing. This place is lovely on every level and so clean with all the extra you might need for your stay. Make sure you check out the private beach!

A great place

It’s a wonderful place for a couple or a family with a kid. Comfortable, clean, well taken care of. A nice welcome package (wine, brown bread, breakfast supplies). The road to the driveway is quite narrow, but take it slow and no problem. The amenities are just as described. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful place to stay

The Coach House is in such a peaceful, lovely setting, surrounded by trees and very close to a couple of beaches. It is furnished to a very high standard and the outside spaces are perfect for sunbathing and eating outdoors. Brendan and Jean were the perfect hosts and have thought of everything.

Heaven on Earth

Brendan and Jean were very thoughtful hosts. They even made us brown bread which lasted the week. The privacy of the location, and proximity to Woodside Beach was an added bonus with so many good walks available to us. We had every amenity one could imagine. We would love to return annually. Comfortable home away from home

We were very pleased with our stay at the Coach House. When we arrived it was perfectly set up and ready for us to make it home. They provided all the basic essentials along with some fresh baked bread, a bottle of wine, and chocolate laid out for us to enjoy. The views were amazing, and it’s only about a 10 min drive to Dunmore East and about 20 min to Waterford. We were very blessed to stay at the Coach House!

Another Five Star Stay

A wonderful and romantic hideaway

Woodstown is a beautiful place to stay, not far from the cute village Dunmore East and Tramore (amazing waves and great pubs). The Coachhouse is a lovely accommodation, its interior wonderfully designed and very well equipped. The house is surrounded by stonewalls of the previous 18th (?) century building, which create a very romantic and also historical atmosphere. Brendan and Jean are very kind hosts. Thank you so much for your warm welcome and also for providing some groceries for the first day. We would like to return one day. Best regards Jana & Peter

Beautiful historical seclusion

This beautiful property sits on a old farm homestead. Just like the phoenix it has risen from ruins to present day thanks to the present day owners. It’s a perfect hideaway from the everyday stress of city day life. It offers you privacy not to far from the comforts of city life. If you like strolling on the beach this place is for you. Beautiful, Peaceful Setting; Well- Equipped, Comfortable Cottage

We chose this property as a home base to explore Waterford and Wexford Counties. We like being out in the countryside away from the bustle of bigger towns. So glad we found this place. First of all, the hosts are terrific, having stocked the kitchen with some basics (including homemade bread!) until we could get to the grocery store. The home (very clean and comfortable) is well equipped with cookware, dinnerware and everything else you might need to prepare a meal at home. You can tell the hosts take good care with this property. There is a private walled courtyard in the back which we enjoyed in the evenings in lounge chairs after a day of exploring, and there is also an outdoor dining table if weather permits. It took us a time (or two) to get used to the narrow road up from Woodstown beach that leads to the property, but that added to the charm! Short drive to the town of Waterford, and many seaside towns. We enjoyed our stay here, and would stay here again if in the area.

Delightful Cottage in beautiful quiet location

We had lovely time in the Coach House, thanks Jean and Brendan, for the warm welcome with a card bottle of wine Jeans homemade soda bread, butter eggs and milk etc, much appreciated. The Coach House is set in delightful surroundings with superb views and only a short walk from the beautiful beach.For anyone keen on county walks this would be perfect ! The nearest pub a short drive away was very pleasant.Tescos Waterford 20 mins drive. Dunmore East delightful with several pubs, Spinnaker Bar a great little cafe, a small shop, and a restaurant which sold takeaway meals called the Lemon Tree, superb. Crook 15 mins drive and Passage East car ferry made visits to Hook a pleasure, it looks further than you think. I have to say we loved the bed, one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on, this is so important and so often overlooked. Everything we needed was there for our use as described on the web site, superb.I would highly recommend this lovely property. Many thanks Jean and Brendan

Wunderschön

Wir fühlten uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus. Brendan und Jean haben uns sehr herzlich empfangen und uns mit selbst gebackenem Brot verwöhnt. Die Lage des Häuschens war ruhig und nicht weit entfernt von einem langen Strand. Auch viele Ausflugsziele waren gut zu erreichen. Für uns war der Urlaub in diesem Haus einfach perfekt!
