Resort was beautiful. Well kept, clean, quiet and great place to relax. One thing we did not see in other reviews is that the water is full of rays, with some being sting rays. Made us a bit nervous to swim, but the water was beautiful

We stayed at barcelo Maya Riviera adults only in early November and had a great time. We loved the buffet and Agave restaurant specifically (we are not fussy with food, we thought everything was great, I had tacos every day!). The beach area is awesome to snorkel and observe coral life, we saw so many types of fish, stingrays, and even a sea turtle. I highly recommend bringing water shoes and a snorkel unless you are ok getting it from the gift shop! We also walked through the grounds and enjoyed playa Mexicana to buy some souvenirs. Staff is great and the hotel is well maintained, pool's clean and room's awesome. We only had 1 day of rain!

This property is perfect for couples who need to get away. It’s beautiful, clean, and provides anything you could need. Their staff is hands down the most amazing people. They work so hard everyday to ensure the resort is immaculate and that your stay is flawless. Would definitely return.

Best, largest pool ever! Balcony view was beautiful and hot tub on deck was amazing. Walk out to beach wonderful. Staff friendly though sometimes hard to understand. Miramar Buffett was our least favorite part of the stay. Often stale churros and cookies and Luke warm food that wasn’t the best. But the restaurants made up for it.

This place is really very nice and 1st class all the way. Buffet closes at 6 pm and that is a small problem but specialty restaurants are great and excellant food. No wait staff on the beach is also a small problem. The ocean here is not quite as walkable (bring water shoes) as the Palace which is family oriented and a much better ocean for cleanliness and water quality. This was our best hotel we have stayed at thus far. Quick and easy services. Pool area was well kept and LOTS of seating. Never had to go down early to reserve a chair at the pool. Our one downside was we paid for the premium service and still not sure what benefit it really provided. 24 h room service was nice but our drink package and service was the exact same as the others we came with that didn’t get premium so was very disappointed in that service. But that being said I would absolutely come back to this hotel!
