5 Star holiday cottage with its own private indoor pool. Situated in Thorpe, a delightful village at the southern end of the White Peak area of the Peak National Park, Thorpe Cloud View cottage is a charming holiday location within the four-acre grounds of, but set apart from, Thorpe House, a late Georgian limestone grade two listed building of considerable character. The cottage, allocated the top rating of five stars, has uninterrupted views of Thorpe Cloud, at the entrance to Dovedale, the limestone gorge which separates Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The surrounding areas provide excellent walking. The picturesque Derbyshire market town of Ashbourne is just some 3 miles away; the spa town of Buxton, and the historic houses of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and Kedleston are all within easy access. Alton Towers, the UK’s largest leisure park is only a twenty-minute drive away. Arrival is from 3pm and departure before 9:30am.

Absolutely fantastic cottage for a break in the peaks. Well equipped and very clean cottage. Very comfortable with a big garden. The pool was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.

Everything you could want

This was our second visit. This is a really well-designed and characterful small cottage with a large (and warm!) private pool a short distance across the garden. There are fabulous views of the lower part of the White Peak area from the cottage, and walks from the door or from Ilam - a couple of miles away. The hosts offer a warm welcome. Another great stay.

We had a long weekend stay in Thorpe view cottage. The cottage is well furnished, clean and cosy. The garden is well maintained with exceptional views. The pool is a great feature, was used every day. Ray and Julie are warm and welcoming hosts. Good location, ideal for walker's and cyclists. We had a hearty meal on two occasions at the Old dog pub, served by friendly landlord and staff.All in all we had agreat stay,will certainly return.

Fantastic Cottage

Fantastic cottage for our short break. Communication with owner and directions to the property were perfect. The cottage was spotless on arrival and the pool was even better than the photos. The surrounding area was beautiful and great for walking. All in all one of the best short breaks we’ve ever had.

Fantastic homely cottage

This was our second visit to this beautiful cottage, as soon as you walk in you feel at home everything you need is there for you, and the sole use of the pool and jacuzzi is a bonus we will be back again.

We had a lovely stay here. It was spotless, well equipped and the host Ray was friendly and helpful with any requests. Thank you for the milk too, it was much appreciated! We loved the private swimming pool, this is a great feature to have after exploring the local area. We hope to come back again next year!

Fantastic Peaks Property

We had a fabulous 3- night break at this beautiful property. Ray, the property owner, was very welcoming and helpful and the property itself is perfectly located, spotlessly clean, well equipped and beautifully furnished. The swimming pool is a fantastic feature which we made use of every day. A great short break and we will definitely be returning.

Lovely, well equipped cottage. Small for a family of 4x, but that is what we expected and it is how the place is described. However, the location, hosts and the exclusive use of the fantastic (large!) indoor pool all meant we had a brilliant stay and would happily return another time….

Excellent Christmas Break

This is a beautiful quiet cottage finished to a high standard with everything you need for a chilled relaxing holiday.Communication with Ray and Julie was great and the pool was an amazing addition to the cottage.The location is perfect for walking Dovedale 30 mins, Tissington trail 20 mins and the Old Dog Pub which was very welcoming 10 minutes walk.Cannot fault the whole package and would not hesitate to revisit in the future.

Great Property & Location

The cottage was even better than expected, and was warm, comfortable, very well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Set in a quiet, and peaceful location, with views of the surrounding countryside. The swimming pool was definitely an added bonus, and was much bigger than it looks on the photos. We really enjoyed our stay, and didn't want to leave.

Great location

The cottage was lovely and warm and has all the little extras you don’t always get, such as boxes of tissues, tin foil, kitchen roll etc. The pool was spotless and so warm. Garden and view was beautiful. We could easily walk to Thorpe Cloud and the nearest pub. Would definitely stay here again.

Just beautiful

I stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful cottage. The area is just stunning. Cottage is outstanding and the owners could not have been nicer. The pictures of the pool area really do not do it justice! I cannot recommend this cottage enough. I am already planning my nice visit!
