“I highly recommend this property! It is a very cute cabin. Our boys loved it and felt like they were staying in a treehouse. The community is great and we really enjoyed eating at the restaurant in the community clubhouse. It was very convenient. The cabin was clean and comfortable. “I brought my oldest son here for his 16th birthday, along with his best friend, and his two younger brothers. We had an absolute blast staying here! The cabin was perfect for the five of us, we caught a bunch of fish in Lake Petit, and had a great dinner at Black Bear Pub. “We stayed here for a bachelor party and had an awesome weekend! Mark was a phenomenal host and met us at the property during check in for a tour. He contacted us via text every day to ensure our stay was going well and ask if we needed anything. We had the band play at the house on Saturday night which was the highlight of the weekend! “My family and I had a fun and relaxing stay at the Southern Shore Cove home. It was beautifully decorated and clean. We loved the converted garage game room! “We played 2 courses north of Atlanta after a couple of days at The Masters. The Vrbo home was convenient to the courses and places the eat. It has plenty of space in several of the rooms which allowed us to spread out and relax. The renovations were impressive for 1960s era house but it could use a little more work. “It was decent. No bells and whistles but decent. The trail going to the lake is kinda steep and theirs no railing. At the dock their is little railing and a basic dock, not much seating. The bathroom is very small. The kitchen is decent but small and the pots and pans are good. Bring your own seasonings and foil. The towels and rags are pretty worn in. I'd suggest bringing your own. “We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We were 8 people (adults and teens) and it was a very spacious house with a very large backyard. It was very close to many hiking trails and other local attractions and very easy to get to. It was well equipped with everything we needed and the owner was very accommodating, responsive and nice. “I waited too late to find a place to stay for Thanksgiving, but as it so happens, that allowed me to find this cabin. Since it was Thanksgiving/November, we weren't interested in using the dock, but we did walk down to it and it was quite far. “Property is beautiful. However they cleaning staff is using a strongly fragranced solution that gave me a headache and almost triggered my asthma. I called the front desk and they came up and said they couldn’t smell it. They offered a room on the same floor and the smell wasn’t as strong so I was moved to that one. This is not the place to stay if you have Asthma or fragrance sensitivity. The hotel should have the cleaning staff stop using such a strong smelling cleaner. ”
