Unique Countryside Villa From The 17th Century, Close To Stockholm

Villa Drottningholm is a beautiful old house from the 17th century, stunningly located close to a horsefarm and the forest right outside with a perfect recreation area. The house is fully modern, carefully restored in a light, country, scandinavian style. It has it´s nice private ground, a newly renovated guesthouse with 2 single beds and a terrace. The property offers complete privacy. The bottomfloor consists of a livingroom with a fireplace, a large kitchen with complete equipment and a fireplace, and a laundryroom. The second floor has a TV-room, three bedrooms one with a kingsize bed, the others with a singlebed in each. A balcony with view over the horse meadow. There is also a nice bathroom with a yaccutzi. Outside in the garden there is a sauna which you heat with firewood. There is a smaller house fulltime rented on the property. They have their own garden and are very quiet, you will hardly take any notice of them.
Communications: Lovö church is 10 min. walk from Villa Drottningholm, from where the buses take you to Brommaplan (Metrostation) Driving a car will take 20 min,unless you choose the busy early morning traffic, between 7-8 am. A more beautiful way to go to the city is taking the classical steamboat leaving from the royal castle of Drottningholm. Takes 45 min. The castle where the royal family lives, is a must to visit itself. The fantastic garden is a popular target for picnics during the summer. Lovö/Drottningholm is an island sorounded by lake Mälaren. You can rent a boat, but it´s best to be arranged in advance.
Weather: Sweden has far lot better weather than it´s rumor. May, June, July and August hare the most stabil months to enjoy the country. The evenings are light, the sun rices extremely early and sets very late. Temp, around 20-25 C. Atumn is during sep-nov with clear skyes and beatiful colours. Dec-feb we will hopefully have snow, since we love celebrating a white Christmas. It is very cosy, especially in our oldfashioned house. We go countryskiing a lot, just outside the door. When spring comes we sit outside as much as we can, enjoying the light and the sun, the barbeque-season starts and is one of the most popular way of socializing in Sweden.

Beautiful House in a great location
One of the best rentals we ever had - the house lies between a forest and a horse farm. Really quiet and the setting is beautiful. Everything you possibly need for a nice holiday is available in the house. We liked the many candles and lights and the little winter garden. The heated floor was great for the winter rental - thanks for the sweets and the bowl of fruits - thanks for the christmas card. Close to the shops and close to Stockholm and only a 45 minute drive to Arlanda Airport. Our son used the small Guesthouse in the garden. Wifi worked great. We will recommend this place to our friends. Thank You from Luxembourg

A perfect holiday
We have just rented this beautiful property for a week and wish we could have stayed much longer. The property is spacious and light, and has been lovingly restored and decorated by its owners to a very high standard. It is very well equipped, very comfortable, and set in a lovely, secluded part of the countryside where the only noise is the sound of the birds and the rustle of the wind in the trees. If you want peace and quiet this is perfect, yet still only a 25 minute drive to the centre of Stockholm. The owners, Britt and Mats, are friendly, welcoming and very helpful, even leaving a charged travel card for the local transport network. The property has magnificent views, with a wonderful balcony and summer room to have breakfast in the morning sun and a separate summer house with deck for lunch. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back tomorrow. Be careful when following a satnav to get here however as it seems to want to take you down a very small, dirt track. Try to program in the address of the stables next door, then turn left!

We would highly recommend this villa to everybody! The villa is really beautiful and decorated with warm taste. The area is also very beautiful and quiet. The owners, Britt and Mats, are very hospitable and very kind. They really helped us out whilst having a problem with renting a car, due to missing creditcard. Fantastic holiday home in an excellent location
We spent a wonderful week in this fantastic house. The owners were very welcoming and were always happy to answer any questions we had. The house is beautiful inside and contains everything you could possibly need. It is only a 20 minute walk to the edge of the lake where you can swim and just a short drive into Stockholm and the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this property.

This is a beautiful Swedish House with wonderful hosts in a very scenic and special place.
Imagine waking up to a deer outside your window, then walking to a lake for a private swim, then a thirty-minute,easy bike ride past Drottningholm Castle to a metro station where in 15 minutes you will be in the heart of Stockholm. If you don’t have a Swedish cousin that can loan you a bike for a week, you can rent one, or you can walk to a bus stop that can take you where you need to go. At Drottningholm you can even take a ferry to Stockholm. If you like golf or just like having a pear cider while you watch golfers, there is a beautiful golf course close by. The house is tucked away at the edge of the woods, behind a riding stable, so you really feel like you are in the country yet you are very close to a world class city. I had a Fourth of July Dinner Party for 8, and the well-organized kitchen had everything I needed. I was traveling without a car so the day I arrived, Britt met me at the Metro and drove me to the house after waiting for me to do a little shopping. I highly recommended this house to woman traveling alone, a family with children who would love the little red playhouse in the yard, or a couple who wants a romantic adventure. Be sure to take the wooden bike tour and the kayak tour of Stockholm.

We had a great time with our children in this - in every detail fully equiped - house. The place is quiet, near to the forest an the beautiful Mälaren (20 min walking distance). Stockholm by car or bus is very esay to reach. The house with its elegant furniture is an eyecatcher for itself. We can highly recommend Britt and her house. Choose it if you want what we were looking for: A quite lovely place to relax and on the other hand just jump into your car and get into the heart of Stockholm. Britt, we'll see us again! this was a perfect rental. very close to Stockholm and yet so quiet, excellent public transport. very clean and extremely comfortable. and so cosy.... the owners are extremely generous, everything was there when we arrived and the house was perfectly warm (outside lots of snow and very cold -10C). we have been renting holiday homes for more than 25 years and this was the first really carefree home! just relax...

Einfach toll!
Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in der Villa verbracht. Es hat uns dort sooooo gut gefallen, was daran lag: -die extrem herzliche Begrüßung durch die Vermieter -die Lage des Hauses inmitten der Natur am Wald mit Fußweg zum Mälaren -tolle ÖPNV-Anbindung nach Stockholm, binnen weniger Minuten ist man an der U-bahn-Station "Brommaplan" -die Ausstattung des Hauses (es ist ALLES da, was man sich für ein Ferienhaus nur vorstellen kann) -die Atmosphäre des Hauses (sooo gemütlich, man fühlt sich sofort zu Hause) -die vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen, so dass man wahlweise entweder Sonne abbekommt oder ein schattiges Plätzchen findet -die Größe des Grundstücks, ein Traum für Kinder -.... Wer Stockholm erkunden, aber auch gerne etwas Abstand vom Großstadt-Trubel inmitten der Natur haben möchte (so wie wir) ist hier genau richtig aufgehoben. Danke Britt und Mats!

Sehr gemütlich
Wir reisten dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal mit unseren drei inzwischen erwachsenen Kindern nach Schweden. Unter anderem verbrachten wir eine Woche in der Villa Drottningholm. Ja, was sollen wir sagen? Alles aus den anderen Bewertungen stimmt. Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt und waren total begeistert, besser geht es einfach nicht. Schade, dass Schweden für uns so weit weg liegt, sonst würden wir jedes Jahr kommen. Auf jeden Fall sehr zu empfehlen.

Tolles Haus vor den Toren von Stockholm
Das Haus liegt nur 2km von den königlichen Gärten entfernt, ist hervorragend ausgestattet und bietet so viele attraktive Sitzgruppen innerhalb und auf dem Außengelände, dass man sie in einer Woche kaum alle ausprobieren kann. Lovö ist sehr ländlich, aber in Bromma und Ekerö erreicht man in 10 Min. Autofahrt gute Einkaufsgelegenheiten. Geheimtipp: Mit der commuter ferry als Teil des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs von Ekerö aus in einer einstündigen Kreuzfahrt durch die Schären bis zum Stockholmer Hauptbahnhof - entspannter und günstiger kommt man nicht ins Zentrum! Vielen Dank an Britt und Mats für den herzlichen Empfang mit frischem Obst und Blumen!

A Scandinavian dream come true
Everything that has been written about this property sounds like a fairy tale ... well ... it´s all absolutely true! The location is simply perfect if you wish to enjoy relaxing nature and have the beautiful city of Stockholm nearby. We came by car and obviously it´s handy to have a car for shopping for groceries but it´s not strictly necessary for visiting Stockholm. You can either go by bus to Brommaplan and then continue by underground to Stockholm city (40 minutes or go to Ekero and go by "pendelbät"-ferry (55 minutes) The villa is absolutely gorgeous and has been renovated by Britt and Mats to a perfect and comfortable modern standard while at the same time keeping the 17th century atmosphere intact, thus creating a very homely feeling. The large and bright kitchen contains everything you might need when cooking own meals on holiday. There is also a utility room with a washing machine, a dryer, an ironing board, ... everything you might wish for has been provided. Very relaxed check in and check out: on our first day we were heartily welcomed by Britt and Mats and on our last day they came to see us off and to wave goodbye. The house has plenty of spaces where you can sit together or alone, both inside (there´s a wonderful balcony!) and outside. Speaking of outside: Lovö has a large deer population. When cycling around you will often encounter deer. One day I went out to hang up some kitchen towels outside, there even was a deer in the garden! 300% recommendation!

Der Aufenthalt hier lässt sich trefflich in einem Wort zusammenfassen: traumhaft. Das gemütliche Ferienhaus verbindet ganz wunderbar schwedische Leichtigkeit mit zeitloser Eleganz und modernen Stilelementen. Die Liebe zum Detail zeigt sich in allen Räumen und die Einladung uns "wie zu Hause zu fühlen" haben wir gern angenommen. Britt und Mats waren sehr aufmerksame Gastgeber und hatten auf jede Frage schnell eine Antwort. Zudem wurden wir mit einem Obstkorb überrascht, eine schöne Geste. Der große Garten bietet verschiedene Sitzecken und auch auf dem Balkon kann man gut entspannen. Kurzum: ein wirklich perfektes Ferienhaus, zumal die ruhige Lage und die Nähe zu Stockholm eine unschlagbar günstige Kombination ist. Unser Fazit - gern wieder.

Wunderschöne Landvilla bei Drottningholm
Wir sind als Familie gereist und haben das Ferienhaus sehr genossen. Vor allem der skandinavische Stil, die Sauberkeit und Ausstattung, das üppige Platzangebot und die ruhige Lage haben uns begeistert. Perfektes Urlaubsdomizil
Britt und Mats stellen ihren Gästen eine zauberhafte Unterkunft zur Verfügung, die mit Geschmack und höchstem Qualitätsbewusstsein von ihnen eingerichtet wurde. Wir haben wirklich alles perfekt vorgefunden: das Haus und das Nebengebäude sind lichtdurchflutet hell und absolut komfortabel, die Küche ist - wie auch die weiteren Räume - funktional und trotzdem hyggelig im besten Sinne: hier stimmt jedes Detail! In der Realität ist alles noch schöner als im Inserat; unsere Vorstellungen wurden tatsächlich übertroffen. Die Lage des Hauses ist perfekt, da es sich zwar in ruhigster Natur - einem sehr schönen Naturschutzgebiet - befindet, man von Brommaplan aus aber nach 15 Minuten Fahrt mit der Bahn das Centrum Stockholms erreicht. Ausflüge nach Vaxholm und die Schären ist ohne Probleme umsetzbar. Die Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrmittel klappt ab Lovö Kyrka reibungslos. Direkt vom Haus aus sind landschaftlich eindrucksvolle Wanderungen möglich und der Mälarensee gut zu erreichen. Der Aufenthalt in der Villa Drottningholm war für uns als Familie pure Entspannung und Vergnügen. Wir bedanken uns bei den liebenswerten und fürsorglichen Gastgebern Britt und Mats für die wunderschöne Zeit und freuen uns auf den nächsten Schwedenurlaub in der Villa Drottningholm.

Sehr gastfreundliche Vermieter. Hat unseren Erwartungen, aufgrund der Beschreibung absolut entsprochen. Man fühlt sich wohl vom ersten Augenblick an. Lage sehr naturnah, idyllisch und ruhig. Excellente Landvilla
Die Landvilla liegt in einem sehr ländlichen und ruhigen Naturreservat, jedoch nur 13 km von Stockholm entfernt. Der Mälarensee ist mit dem Fahrrad in 5 Minuten zu erreichen, es läßt sich herrlich darin schwimmen.Wir haben hier einen wunderschönen Urlaub verbracht, das Haus ist sehr liebevoll und hochwertig im Schwedenstil eingerichtet. Ein dickes Dankeschön an Britt und Mats das wir hier die Tage wie in Bullerbü verbringen durften! Wir kommen im nächsten Sommer wieder!

Rundumwohlfühl-Ferienhaus in idyllischer Umgebung
Das Ferienhaus liegt auf der Insel Lovö (per Auto auf Straße erreichbar) und wunderbar ruhig in der Nähe weniger Häuser direkt am Waldrand. Auf dem großen Gartengelände des Ferienhauses (auf dem man prima Kricket und Schwedenschach spielen kann - beides vorhanden-) gibt es noch ein Sommerhaus mit zwei Betten, eine Kinderspielhütte für kleine Kinder und eine Holzofen-Sauna. Vom Ferienhaus kommt man durch den Wald in 15-20min zu Fuß zu einer Badebucht mit Sand am See, in der man toll schwimmen und spielen kann. Im August waren wir dort in der Regel für uns alleine. Im Wald gibt es Grillplätze mit Holzvorrat und man kann Pilze und Blaubeeren sammeln. Das Haus selbst ist hell & lichtdurchflutet und stilvoll eingerichtet. In jedem Zimmer gibt es Blumen. Die Küche ist groß und umfassend ausgestattet (großes Kochfeld, Backofen, Küchenutensilien, Elektrogeräte und viel Besteck und Geschirr). Es gibt einen separaten Hauswirtschaftsraum mit Trockner, Waschmaschine, Bügeleisen, Bügelbrett etc.. Die ländliche Insel liegt ganz in der Nähe der Innenstadt (10 min mit dem Auto zum Supermarkt und anderen Geschäften, eine halbe Stunde zur Innenstadt Stockholm). Wir wurden herzlich von den Vermietern empfangen und mit einer großen gefüllten Obstschale überrascht. Die Kommunikation war super und zuvorkommend und wir haben tolle Tipps bekommen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dieses Objekt buchen!

Rundum wohl und schnell zu Hause gefühlt
Wir (eine Familie mit 2 Kindern, 7 und 12 Jahre alt) haben im Juli 2021 zwei Wochen in der Villa Drottningholm verbracht. Das Haus hat uns allen sehr gut gefallen, wir haben uns schnell zu Hause gefühlt. Es ist wirklich sauber und sehr liebevoll und umfassend eingerichtet und dekoriert. Man merkt an allen Ecken und Enden, dass sich die Besitzer sehr viel Gedanken und Mühe gemacht haben, um ihren Gästen einen schönen Ausenthalt zu bieten. Von Ersatzhandtüchern über eine unglaublich umfangreiche Küchenausstattung bis hin zu viel Info-Material zur Umgebung und Ausflugszielen war alles da, was man brauchen kann. Außerdem z.B. auch solche Sachen wie viel freier Schrankplatz im Flur und jede Menge Haken im Bad, was wir in vielen anderen Ferienhäusern nicht vorgefunden haben. Auch das Grundstück ist wirklich schön. Toll angelegt und gepflegt mit vielen Plätzen zum Sitzen. Wir waren viel draußen und haben dabei die unglaublich erholsame Ruhe sehr genossen. Die Villa Drottningholm hat eine ganz tolle Lage. Auf der einen Seite ist es nicht weit bis nach Stockholm, einer fantastischen Stadt. Und dann ist da die unmittelbare Umgebung, sie ist traumhaft schön. Auf gut gepflegten und nicht schwierigen Wanderwegen haben wir die Insel Lovö erkundet und dabei tolle kleine Buchten und andere Stellen am Wasser entdeckt. Dort Pause zu machen und dabei die Umgebung einfach nur auf sich wirken zu lassen, ist Erholung pur. Solche Entdeckungstouren können wir Jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen. Nicht vergessen wollen wir hier unsere Vermieterin Britt. Sehr liebevoll, Kompetent und immer freundlich hat sie sich um unsere Wünsche und Fragen gekümmert. Das fing schon weit vor dem Urlaub an, u.a. wegen Corona gab es bei uns viele Fragen. Sie hat uns dabei genauso gut und schnell weitergeholfen wie bei einigen Dingen, die sich während des eigentlichen Urlaubs ergeben haben. Wirklich klasse, besser geht es nicht! Tack så mycket, Britt!! Alles in Allem hatten wir eine ganz tolle Zeit, die wir bestimmt nicht vergessen werden.
