One bedroom upstairs has levelor blinds, one has white curtains. There is a skylight in each bedroom. Those ants must have just come in, they were not there earlier when we were by. They have been taken care of, there are none there now. Sometimes a sign of spring! The house is always very clean and fresh. We hope you return for a fun getaway with your friends!

These folks have stayed at our home before, albeit under a different name, William Lamb, her father. The head of our cleaning team, who has been with us for over thirty years called me after their checkout to say if I ever rented to them again he would no longer consider cleaning our home. We are proud of our clean home, and quick response to any concerns our guests may have. These folks called us for the first time on the afternoon of day 5 of their 8 day stay to report there wasn’t backup paper goods or dishwasher pods. I gave them access to our storage closet where they could replenish what they had purchased, and have plenty for the rest of their stay. The cleaner arrived within the hour, of their call, and addressed their issue with the dishwasher, and made sure they had no other concerns. Our.deck is large and sturdy with comfortable seating. Rheana’s father said he enjoyed sitting out there and relaxing. He also mentioned his bed was the most comfortable one he had ever slept in. We have a Weber charcoal grill on the deck for cookouts or s,mores. We don’t have a fire pit, for many safety reasons . Our grounds surrounding the house are planted with grass and ferns. There is plenty of firewood neatly stacked . We have also opted not to have a WasteManagement dumpster by our front door( our only option due to bears), and ask guests to be responsible for their own trash. Landfill is nearby, free, and town mandates recycling. Barrels are provided in our house for both trash and recycling, though the town does require separation of recyclable materials on site. We don’t have moths in the house, although if you do arrive after dark, and turn lights on in the house while you’re bringing your stuff in, they may follow you in as they are drawn to the light. We did have a professional person come in to assure us the was no mouse in the house. We do keep the plug-ins by the back doors . Two of our best features are the private sandy Saco River beach, and the hiking trail up Mount Stanton, each a short walk from our door. People who stay with us often comment how well the house works for them, and how clean and well suited it is for their family. See all our previous five star reviews.

Our Saco River neighborhood beach is one of the most loved features of our home. One reaches it by the access road marked “private”. There is a little ankle deep stream about four or five feet across that must be waded through, if the footbridge is not there. This is easy to do, even for small children. The ten acre undeveloped riverside beach property is maintained by the neighborhood association of volunteers. The Saco River is “never the same river twice”, so it is always fun to see how it looks this year. This year, 2022, the beach is large and sandy, but one still needs to wear river or water shoes, flip flops won’t do. The current is quiet, and there are plenty of areas for small children to play, and explore. The best swimming is at the bend in the river, to your right as you arrive at the beach.The river is not handicapped accessible. If one goes down the road before the private beach access road (Rick’s Road) it runs through the woods parallel to the river, but there is no beach access! So look for the private road signs.. Northern Vermont and New Hampshire experienced highly unusual short lived population of caterpillars in 2021 and this year. We continue to do our best to discourage them.This is a cyclical phenomenon which hopefully has run its course.

Yes, guests are responsible for their own trash, as is clearly mentioned. We have opted not to have a Waste Management dumpster in front of our door, which is the alternative. Trash cannot be put out for pick up as it attracts bears. The landfill is no charge, and a very short drive away. It is open until six pm, so we suggest people drop off their trash the day before they go, and if they have a small bag left the next morning, to please take it with them.

The view of the river valley from the top of Mt Stanton is awesome! Our kids first climbed it with us when they were four and seven years old. We’re glad you had the opportunity to explore and enjoy together with your family. Welcome back anytime!

We had the deck recently painted, and the lower level had been closed up for 3 weeks, it may have been stuffy, but not damp. Cleaners are going in today to resolve, and make sure all is nice and fresh. Usually, the lower level is such a great place for different generations to relax and enjoy each other’s company! It’s light and airy with windows that look out to the back yard, and it’s own entrance, kitchen and bath.
