This family friendly home sits in a prime location. Ride bikes or walk to Bay Drive and enjoy sidewalk lined roads along the Currituck Sound to enjoy sunsets, fishing, crabbing or launch a boat from the public boat launch at Dock Street. Bay Drive is also a great place to go for a run! This home is also just 4 to 5 blocks from the beach! Enjoy it all and stay fit while on vacation with your own exercise area.

Ground Level: Exterior amenities include a large fully gated yard with patio and fire pit, side yard with picnic table, outside shower and parking for 4 cars. Inside you'll find a Den with flat-screen TV/DVD, Double Sleep Sofa, bar area with seating for 2, dart board and patio access. Exercise area with a stair climber, rower, elliptical, free weights and outside fenced yard access. Queen Bedroom with TV, full hallway bath and laundry with washer and dryer.

Top Level: Great room with a flat-screen TV/DVD and deck access with seating and gas grill. Newly remodeled kitchen, dining area seating 6, California King Bedroom with flat-screen TV, Queen Bedroom and a full hallway bathroom.

Extras: 4 TVs, 2 DVD players, stereo, gated yard, patio with fire pit, high speed internet access, enclosed outside shower, dart board, corn hole, stair climber, rower, elliptical, free weights, washer/dryer, gas grill and linens and towels provided. No Smoking. Dogs Welcome. Flex Stay available All Seasons. Beds: California King, 2 Queens, Double Sleep Sofa. House Address: 326 W. Chowan Street, Kill Devil Hills. Key Type: Keyless Entry. CHECK IN LOCATION: 3719 N. Croatan Hwy., Kitty Hawk Office.

Linens and towels provided at no additional cost. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of sleep sofas, top bunks and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Nice home. Great location. Perfect for dogs. Only complaint was the rental company…. Not one staple. No soap anywhere. No garbage bags. One blanket. Four towels for 3 people. For a 500 a night stay, leave dish soap for your dishes.

Lovely Home

The house was very nice and accommodated all of us well. Easy access to area attractions. We enjoyed hanging out on the patio with a lot of seating. I definitely would stay there again.

Great time

First impression its a nice beachy house. Layout of the floors was perfect. I would recommend a bigger t.v on the upper (main dinning area)floor. We had our two dogs with us and can honestly say it was perfect for them except there was alot of dog hair when we got there. All in all we had a great time and woukd recommend this place to anyone.

Great family vacation

We loved the home. There were a few things I’d recommend to the owners. Better pillows with pillow protectors, and light quilts instead of large comforters. These people are dog lovers and being able to bring our dogs was a bonus. The fenced in yard was heaven with the trees shading the area. The dogs and toddler being fenced in made it more relaxing and the hammock added a dreamy relaxing experience. The only thing really missing would be a pool or even just a small hot tub sized that is just a place to cool off not necessary a hot tub. Not necessary because there were tons of bonuses to this place that we can overlook a pool but if the house had those few things it would be a 7 out of 5. Plenty of games and books. Even dog toys and beach items. The 2 new boogie boards were perfect for the kids. We are grateful for this home and hope to make it a tradition to come visit again very soon. My husband and I enjoyed playing darts and cards at night at the bar. Thank you for sharing your home and we hope to come back real soon.

Very Nice Area

The house was very spacious and had everything we needed except there was no beach towels and the trash cans were never emptied.To get to the beach is a very dangerous intersection with the highway. Overall it was a very quiet neighborhood and very easy access to the Sound side to experience recreational enjoyment.Sunsets on the sound are spectacular. Lots of things to do any many restaurants and shopping.The house had lots of shade for the really hot days.

Roaches everywhere and not cleaned

While the house itself was fine, we had tons of roaches inside the house and the house was not cleaned very well before we got in- piles of dust balls all over the house. We called about the roaches inside and they just told us that’s in everyone’s homes. We were told twice we were going to get refunded for duplicate and incorrect fees that we paid and we have yet to receive the refund.

It was a beautiful and blessed week! We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have this time together. I had not had a chance to visit the beach much less the outer banks in twenty years. To have a safe place to stay and rest means so much to us. Thank you would not suffice. Thank you for your timely communication and attention to our needs!

2 Living Areas!

It is a nice home with 2 living areas, so we could spread out and were not jammed into one space for TV time in the evening. Our dogs were blessed to have a deck for viewing the neighborhood and stairs that led down to a spacious fenced yard. The Kitchen had higher end appliances in the kitchen. We had a great time!

Pet friendly and easy ride to the beach

We enjoyed our stay in this pet friendly home just blocks from the beach. Great downstairs work out area and terrific fenced yard.

Beach Vacation 2021

Overall my family & I had a wonderful time. When we go to the house & checked in I did see some cleaning problems but that’s not the owners fault what so ever. Whoever inspects needs to be fired we found a bag of cans under the bar and hair & dust everywhere. Being this is a pet house they need to be persistent on the cleaning. Other than that it was awesome not to far from the beach or the sound. We did jockeys ridge, the aquarium, we flew in an air plane & even went & visited diggers dungeon. For those who don’t know what that is it’s Grave digger the monster truck memorabilia also the kids can ride trucks and the whole family can ride the monster truck.

Good location

The Turtle's Nest is a great house, we enjoyed our stay immensely. The large fenced yard was very nice; the hammock and outdoor furniture was great, and was a big plus for our two dogs. Beds were new and comfortable but old, flat pillows, living room and family room downstairs were nice. I felt that the only negative was the kitchen. The cooking utensils were minimal and very cheap, the pans were cheap and overall a frustrating experience. The toaster is old and took three times to toast a piece of bread. There's no colander, very poor cutting board (thin, floppy, plastic) and knives so dull you couldn't easily cut anything. Silver ware seems like from the Dollar Store. I bit more attention to this would be great. Otherwise, close to the Sound and beach (but you do have to cross busy highway). We had a wonderful time and would definitely return.

Clean and Homey

A short distance from the beach, but very quiet and peaceful location. The house was clean and very homey. We rode bikes to the sound side to crab and also rode our bikes to a local putt putt course. Good times!

A nice house, close to the everything.

We (2 adults & 2 young children) enjoyed our visit. This is not your typical rental house! The updated shower downstairs and kitchen upstairs are nice upgrades and the kids had a great time playing on the deck outside. The house is located relatively close to the beach, we didn't walk as you need to cross a very busy road. Everything else that you might need is only a short drive away. Unfortunately the house had not been cleaned when we got there and we had to wait until the next day before housekeeping could clean it. It was a very disappointing start given that hygiene should be the number one priority during covid 19. The rental company were responsive and fixed the problem quickly. The house is in need of a spring clean, it is definitely dog friendly! But if that doesn't bother you then you will really enjoy the house.
