Contemporary Beach Lodge With Sand Dunes And River Views

River behind, sea to the front and adjoining a nature paradise. Beachside is superbly located for all nature and seaside pursuits. A large secure shed is provided for additional storage for bicycles and any other equipment that you might decide to bring.

Bright and airy in the summer months, warm and toasty in the winter. Superbly located as a get-away in the winter months and an ideal jumping-off point to explore the North Norfolk Coast.

Beachside is ideal for families or couples that want to get away to the coast. The beach is about 40 paces away directly accessible over the private beach road opposite.

The front patio gets the sun most of the day and is great for watching the sun set over the dunes. Walk 40 paces and watch it set over the sea. Stunning.

Heacham has much to offer including pubs, restaurants, indoor play activities for children to name but a few. There is a handy cafe at the top of South Beach Road too, great if you don't fancy cooking a Full English yourself!

The Farmer Fred's Play Barn is a great indoor play adventure for children, which is extremely handy when the weather isn't playing ball! The food here is also surprisingly good.

The pick of the pubs in Heacham is probably The West Norfolk. You will need to book your Sunday lunch if you don't want to be disappointed.

There are local shops for groceries including a Tesco Express and superstores within 4 miles at Hunstanton. By foot the Jennings shop, up the road, has most of the essentials and many non-essentials well covered.

Get your groceries delivered direct from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Ocado and save room on packing.

Get takeaway curries, fish and chips, kebabs, pizzas etc delivered when you fancy too!

Whilst Beachside is located in a very peaceful location, it is still very well served with local facilities.

Excellent parking at the front for a couple of cars too.

ELECTRIC CARS:
Due to insurance purposes, guests must never charge their car using a standard outdoor plug or an extension cable linking to a domestic plug. This is not permitted because of fire regulations regarding wiring, earthing rods and voltage restrictions; it poses a serious fire risk to standard 13 amp sockets and there is a real danger that the body of the vehicle could become live. There is no EV Charging point at the property and if you have an EV, you will need to charge it elsewhere. Use of electricity to charge cars is not included in the rental price.

Beautiful escape
The hosts were great with contact from start to finish. We arrived to find a cake and some milk, which was a thoughtful touch, and they checked in with us to make sure we had found the place too. The location is perfect; really close to the beach but also there's a river at the back of the lodge where you can sit on a swing and watch the birds for hours. My daughter loved it and loved feeding the birds too. The place was spotless. Beds were so comfy too. We will hopefully be back!

Break away for my mum.
Splendid little lodge. Good heater’s, perfect for the terrible weather we unfortunately had. We could turn them up when the gale was blowing and the hail came, then down again when the sun did decide to show. We still had a lovely time and managed some bird watching by the river and talking to the ducks! The beach was great, we even got a good sunset one evening. The lodge had everything we needed and felt spacious in the main room. David was very helpful with the booking as we are not good with computers.

Wonderful as always
This is the fourth time we have stayed at this property, so we like it very much. It is well equipped and brilliantly located with very easy access to the beach, about a 50 meter walk and no roads to cross, and has the River Heacham behind it. The sunsets over the sea can be spectacular and the river has abundant wildlife. This time we saw a barn owl hunting just beyond the river. The walk along the beach to Hunstanton is well worth the effort. Access by car and bus to all of the beautiful North Norfolk coast is simple. Everywhere on this coastline is spectacular.

A break away by the sea, North Norfolk
The property was perfect! Just as described but sort of better, everything was great quality and worked without issue. As with every new place you stay it may take a couple of moments to work something out and at those moments, David, the owner was always really quick to answer any queries. The chalet was perfectly located with just one large sand dune between you and the sea. When the sun shone in the afternoons you could have the double French doors open (sea facing), the sun would reach you on the sofa and you could hear the waves lapping. Heacham beach is currently marked as being a polluted beach ~ one of only 2 across the eastern region coast. It was a bit sad to have to avoid swimming there but beaches just around the corner have the blue flag. And, it’s important that people widely put pressure on peers that be to stop polluting the waterways ~ so it made me feel ironically more attached to Heacham beach. And despite the rating of water quality the wildlife here is immense, birdwatchers paradise as the long beach when the tide is out is filled with a huge array of sea birds. Overall brilliant. The sea is glorious here, with dramatic tides, phenomenal sunrises and sunsets. The beach is a beach combers heaven too with pools and shells and stones and sand. David, the host, couldn’t have been more helpful and the chalet was beautiful. I will certainly book again if they’ll have me :)

A traditional seaside holiday in the perfect spot
My wife and I stayed at Heacham (South Beach) north Norfolk in a bungalow-style building and my nephew, his wife and three delightful young boys were in the one next door. Both properties owned by David and Claire Johnson who have been lovely to communicate with from start to finish. Both properties are well-equipped and we were impressed by those items that usually fail to impress in these holiday homes - the shower, for example, was excellent; good fridge with an ice compartment; lovely bedding; good cooker etc. Best of all is the location with a pathway over the dunes and onto the beach just 30 yards from our door. This led to many interludes with the boys paddling, frisbee throwing and best of all flying our ancient box kite along the beach. A short drive away is a local supermarket, Jennings, with everything you could possibly need in terms of food/drink/supplies etc. Also within a short drive - the superb beach at Brancaster, the holiday town fun of Hunstanton and the Norfolk Lavender operation. This was a memorable, traditional seaside holiday in good accommodation and a perfect location with excellent information provided by our hosts.

Perfect place to be based in North Norfolk
This was our third stay in less than 12 months. Suits us perfectly, in a nice quiet area away from the crowds and less than a minute to walk to a lovely beach. We enjoyed our stay even more this time, first trip to Kings Lynn and Sandringham both highly recommended. Spotted lots of wildlife on or near Beachside including deer, oyster catchers and ringed plovers on the beach, partridge and a barn owl over the river just before dusk. Sunsets can be very spectacular. The weather was very kind allowing us to cook outside all 4 evenings.

Lovely stay
Spotlessly clean property and very well equipped. Everything was exactly as we could have hoped for, and when we left an important item behind accidentally, David couldn’t have been more helpful in making sure we got it back and sent it immediately (it was with us within 48 hrs). Highly recommend this stay. The only thing to mention is that the water quality ar Heacham is very poor and not recommended for swimming (at time of writing) - I didn’t think to check this before hand but if you want to have a dip, you’ll want to drive a bit further up the coast - there are lots of lovely places to explore. My kids particularly enjoyed shell collecting on the beach, and Sandringham and the amazing playground. Thank you for a lovely stay and being such helpful hosts.

A wonderful return visit to Beachside
We spent a few days at Beachside over new year 2021/2, and loved it so much that we decided to do the same in 2022/3! The cabin is beautifully presented, immaculately clean - and very cosy for a winter break. It's wonderful having the beach right on your doorstep, with Snettisham nature reserve one way, and Hunstanton the other. David was very helpful and welcoming in communications as before. We can't recommend this property highly enough!

The property has a river to the rear and the sea in front, which was so peaceful. The only noise was the quacking of the ducks on the river. My two children loved walking along the beach and beach-combing.

This is our second stay this year, love the place and the location. Very comfortable and the booking procedure is very efficient. This area of Norfolk is ideal for anybody wanting to escape the stress of modern living'. The Norfolk coast is probably the same as it was 50 years ago. This certainly suited us! The accommodation is modern and very comfortable and overall the 4 day break was extremely relaxing. Leave the car on site and enjoy the walks and excellent bus service. J&D Leicester

We had a lovely stay.
Nice cabin set a few meters from the beach and also close to two other beaches. It was a treat to watch the sunset from the settee. Our teen and her younger sister enjoyed the visits from ducks from the river at the back of the cabin. And It was reassuring to have prompt communication from David. I would recommend.
