Shower pressure was useless, it was a nice rainfall shower head but not enough pressure to wash my hair so that was unfortunate. The lighting in our room was horrible, very dark and black painted walls so I felt like it was not my normal hotel experience. Pool closed earlier than stated hours but after contacting front desk, they opened it for us. The breakfast was nothing special. I would opt for a different hotel if in the area again. It didn’t meet any expectations.

It is obviously a work in progress. Guessing it has been recently purchased and they are attempting to improve it over time. Reminds me of doing home improvements piece by piece but also only doing it yourself. Finishes in rehabbed areas still rough (like baseboards not fitting properly, cut ins on paint slopped all over the place, flashing/drip line metal on roof missing). Area has potential with a lot of new construction, but full room rehabs should happen otherwise it will always be a 2-2.5 star hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lex. The location was great for our needs visiting the Kentucky Horse Park and a music festival downtown. The property was recently remodeled in a nice update and the staff was great. We also enjoyed eating at Barrel 53, the restaurant on the property. We will definitely be back again, when visiting Lexington!

This is a beautiful property that is newly renovated/currently under renovation. That being said, any work being done didn't disturb us at all. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable, and very clean. My children and I had a blast at the pool and small arcade. The restaurant in the hotel makes delicious food - it was nice not to have to leave to eat. The staff in the hotel and restaurant were all exceptionally friendly. My only feedback for the hotel is that the breakfast could have more of a selection and should switch from powdered eggs to real, and the pool could be a touch warmer. However, these things will not deter us from going back.
