“We might have just come during a time when they were understaffed, but the day we checked out it was impossible to find a single employee to help us. We didn't need the breakfast but wanted a cup of coffee before we headed out and had some other questions and we went to the front desk multiple times, even walked into the dining room, and never saw an employee. “We stayed in the Loom House, not until we arrived did we know we were to occupy the oldest habitable log home in NC. While the bed was comfortable, the small fridge was iced up and smelled of old food. There was no TV. There were nail heads sticking up out of the floor upstairs and the floor creaked loudly every time we got out of bed to walk to the bathroom. It was not a place for older people to stay with the narrow stairs and small shower. The cabin is quite near the busy road so lots of……

“" something", which appeared to be a deceased bug on floor, hair in bathroom floor, had to ask 3 times for towels and then the front desk acted as if I was inconsiderate of them. No plans to stay at this location again.”

“What an absolutely amazing stay! We had booked with another property for a 4 day vacation, but only stayed one night due to a terrible experience. I looked for a hotel that first day, and was pleasantly surprised to find this jewel. My family and I were treated phenomenally well by a stellar staff. Many, many thanks to you all, and to Marriott for a wonderful stay!”

“This is a clean and slightly older property that is only two blocks from the center of town where all the great shops are. The staff are very courteous and helpful. We had the room that had its own private pool downstairs from the bedroom suite. There is a pump room associated with the pool and it was so loud it made falling asleep difficult. We asked if it could be turned off and that wasn’t possible, but the staff did offer us some earplugs. That they even had earplugs on hand tells you……

“This was a very clean room in a great location- walkable to everything in town. We enjoyed the firepit! My only complaint was the loud AC unit in the room. Other than that, a very nice place for the money!”

“Location to Grandfather Mountain was great. A/C was great. Kitchen does not have some basic utensils and is not fully supplied (as advertised) - fortunately there is a Food Lion nearby where we bought what should have been supplied. Sofa and chairs did not feel clean and we put a sheet over the sofa. Beds and bed linens were good and clean. But, great place to have a family get-together to attend the nearby Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain.”

“The only reason this property is not getting 5 stars from me is because the restaurant/bar was closed during the entirety of my trip. I was looking forward to dining there and enjoying a drink or two. The room was super comfortable and well appointed. I was very happy with all the staff I interacted with.”

“The staff and amenities were great! Breakfast was hot and well stocked! We enjoy the pool alone twice on our trip. Only down side was our room was not very clean, stains on the sheets, shower and floor were dirty and it smelled a little bit. We also did not use the WiFi due to having to make an account but that was our choice.”
