8/10 Good
"Room was clean and with good heating, enough clothe hangers and shelves to put bags and things on. Kitchen was basic but not enough cutlery to share with other guests. Would be good to have hand dryer or paper towels in the toilet/bathroom. Otherwise very convenient location for entry into the Lake Pedder/Gordon area and close to Mt Field National Park."

"The most gorgeous and serene view of the river and mountains! Probably one of my favourite stays. It is fully equipped with kitchen supplies, essentials etc. Very convenient parking in a safe location. Plenty of places to walk nearby, cherry farms, shops, waterfalls not too far. The hosts have been great with communication and check in was hassle free! I highly recommend this wonderful stay if you're looking for a peaceful getaway."

It's an excellent choice for couples and families looking to maximize their time outdoors and enjoy the convenience of being just steps away from walking trails. For those seeking a slightly more secluded experience, the small townships just outside the park entrance, like Westerway, provide a peaceful alternative. These areas offer guesthouses and farm stays, often with views of the surrounding countryside.

This period is great for families and couples looking to explore the park's natural beauty without the challenges of colder weather. For those interested in winter activities, particularly skiing, the period from July to September (Australia's winter) is best. While parts of the park may be less accessible due to snow, the ski fields at Mount Mawson offer opportunities for downhill and cross-country skiing.
