"Smithy’s Stable is a lovely little cottage halfway between Penzance and St Ives, so the perfect spot for exploring West Cornwall. Mark and Margaret are wonderful hosts and provided numerous adventure ideas. You will need a car — and need to believe that the car is not as wide as you think!"

"The house is really brilliantly located in the village close to the shops and cafes but also an easy walk to the coast and exploration of the historic tin mining area. We and our dogs enjoyed walks not having to go in the car, and the house provided everything we wanted to come back to. Comfy beds, sharp knives in the kitchen - everything very relaxing"

"The cottage was comfortable and clean. The weather was cold and wet when we were there and so we were not able to enjoy the garden but the rhododendron blooms were pretty. It was a good place for a base to visit southern Cornwall - Land's End, Lizard Point, Michael's Mount were some of the places we visited."

"Lovely cosy little place with a lovely feel and had everything we needed. Bed and sofa were very comfy, bunk beds were a bit tight for an adult and the only bathroom is off of the main bedroom so more suited to a family than three adults. Very easy to find and parking was fine even in our truck (reverse in). It was a good base but walking from there was a bit limited due to having to cross A roads. "

"This is a stunning little cottage, tastefully decorated and comfortable, and hidden up a quiet laneway. The books of local history were a bonus. Being in Mousehole, there is NO parking. We found a park on the quay and walked and bussed everywhere which was perfect. Note there is no hairdryer, but hey, you’re on holiday, right? "

"Overall, a 5 star experience. A very sweet, bijou & well presented cottage, a short walk from Newlyn’s amenities & excellent eateries and, within walking distance of Mousehole. The cottage has a wood-burning stove, supplied with a generous basket of logs, though we topped up with our own supply - it heated the place quickly and made it very cosy. The newly refurbished shower was excellent, with a plentiful supply of hot water, with good pressure. Whilst there was very restricted access to the...
