“The property was so unique, we loved the setting and the food. The downside and reason for 3/5 stars was an unlocked door making the basement rooms accessible from somewhere other than the front doors, even though there was a sign posted stating the door was key entry only. The other reason was the bed. It was highly uncomfortable, which is unfortunate as the rest of the room was so nice. All in all, I’d stay there again if we had a mattress pad and better security!”
“A lovely hotel. Close to the town. Easy parking. Cozy and clean room. Friendly owner. Definitely it’s a great experience to stay overnight when you visit galena. ”
“Historic hotel that has been very well maintained and updated. Definitely recommend if staying in Dubuque. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delicious (Iowa knows bacon LOL) and my server was terrific.”
“Shared parling with restaurant next door made it nearly impossible to find parking after 7pm. The room had some sort of odor to it, but it wasn't air freshener (musty). Shampoo in the shower was empty, still on the wall, but empty. The so-called breakfast was a joke. Stale bagels, waffles, but no syrup. There was coffee, but nothing else. No juice of any kind, not even ice water. I personally will never stay again.”
“Our room was 76 degrees when we arrived as the air conditioning was not working. We called the front desk and the maintenance person arrived a few minutes later. He had it working in no time. It took a while to cool down but it was fixed very quickly which was much appreciated.”
