Not sure if you could see water from the hotel. We faced north over the building construction across the street. Positives - the staff and breakfast were both excellent. Hope at the Front Desk in particular provided great customer service. Negative - area around the hotel is pretty dirty (hotel is quite clean). Not a lot around the hotel to do. A restaurant across the street was closed the entire weekend. Coffee shop also across the street opened after 9am. You are a short walk to Gaslamp District as well as the trolley.

I was very happy with hotel overall, but having it in a great location and very accessible to nearby shopping, eating, and Petco Park made this stay so enjoyable. Great to have a garage, but tiny spacing and sharp turns made me nervous.

Clean, comfortable, well maintained. Included breakfast was excellent with lots of options but should maybe be available untill 10am instead of 9 for late risers. Staff very friendly.
