Nice big room with a new feeling. The breakfast was good and contained a mix of asian and western food. In addition it's walking distance to the Chiang Kai Check Museum and metro. The staff is friendly and helpful which is a big plus :)

The hotel is somehow central with decent public transport connections - explicitly via bus but less via MRT. For someone familiar with Taipei, like us, it is OK - for a 1st time tourist much less. The room was clean and in the most upper floor - the lift stops one floor lower - not for someone with larger luggage. The breakfast was severely disappointing. For that prize, one would certainly expect something much better. The TV operation was not self-explaining. Its default mode did not connect to the router - we needed an instruction by the house keeper ..... via a broken button. Moreover, some channels were only displayed with interruption. For that prize unacceptable. But it was only a one-night stay .... and the kids did not insist to watch the disturbed / unwatchable To Story 3. ....

It's fine for biz travel on a budget if you absolutely need to be in the area. If not, spending slightly more for a nicer and cleaner hotel would definitely be worth it. The mosquito issue has been brought up by other guests as well. I asked for a mosquito repellent and was promptly delivered one. AC is not strong enough even after hours of blasting at low temps. Very soiled couch. Overall, hotel has aged and in need of an amenity upgrade to keep up with the times.

MY GIRLFRIEND AND I STAYED IN THIS HOTEL FOR 2 WEEKS. OVERALL OUR STAY WAS VERY PLEASANT. THE HOTEL IS VERY CLEAN AND STAFF ARE NICE. - THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL WAS THAT IT WAS VERY CLOSE TO MRT STATIONS (CSK AND GUTING) WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO GO ANYWHERE IN TAIPE. - THE BREAKFAST WAS GREAT, HAD AN AUTOMATIC ESPRESSO MACHINE AS WELL AS SOME WESTERN AND TAIWANESE BREAKFAST ITEMS. - THE WIFI WAS NOT VERY GOOD AND KEPT DROPPING. - THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. HOWEVER, THEIR ENGLISH IS NOT VERY STRONG. - OUR ROOM DID NOT HAVE A WINDOW WHICH IS NOT GOOD IF YOU DEPEND ON SUNSHINE TO WAKE UP. HOWEVER, IT WAS VERY QUIET. THE WALLS ARE VERY THIN THOUGH WE COULD HEAR OUR NEIGHBORS. - THE BATHROOM WATER FAUCET WAS VERY LOOSE AND THE SINK HAD SOME ISSUES BUT OVERALL THE BATH WAS VERY CLEAN AND SHOWER WAS VERY SPACIOUS WITH MULTIPLE SHOWER HANDLES AND SHOWER HEAD. - THE BED MATTRESS WAS A LITTLE FIRM WHICH IS APPARENTLY VERY COMMON IN EAST ASIA. - THE CLEANING STAFF WERE FANTASTIC, THEY NEVER BOTHERED US IN THE 2 WEEK OF OUR STAY. - THERE ARE A LOT OF FOOD VENDORS NEAR THE HOTEL AND WE ENDED UP EATING A LOT OF OUR BREAKFASTS ON THE STREET WITHIN FEW MINUTES OF WALK.

The staff are very friendly and the hotel was very adequate and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was good and plentiful. Would definitely stay again. Only downside was a few too many rules in the spa/swimming pool area.

I will never stay in this hotel again.
Very bad hygiene. I found more than 5 ants in the room in my three night stays. On my second night, I arrived hotel at around 12 midnight and saw 3 ants in the bathroom. I called the reception and they said it's too late cleaners were sleeping can't send anyone to my room and just hang my phone up. The second day I saw ants again I went down to the reception again for the hygiene issue and about the attitude problem the previous night. The staff said its not his attitude problem that staff is off for duty so it's none of his busuness. This hotel screwed up my trip in Taiwan and let me see the unfriendliness of Taiwan people.

We ended up adding nights before our stay was supposed to start due to a typhoon. The staff was incredibly helpful. Most know English (my mom could chat with them on her own), although some are more comfortable in Mandarin (which I can speak enough). Pluses: The room was clean and had a fantastic bathroom (shower and tub with jets). Breakfast was fine. Changed it a bit each day, kept it well-stocked. Enough choice, both western & Chinese, to be fed. The staff is great and accommodating. The location is central and good for getting around town, in between 2 metro stops and just off a main street. Good base to see Taipei. Minuses: The lights were wired a bit strangely in the room (it was all on or all off, despite numerous control switches). Wifi was pretty slow and spotty. There is Wifi for each floor. Our floor's didn't work for most of our stay. We could connect to the other floors, but the signal was weak from them and would cut out.

Convenient Business Hotel
I quite enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The super friendly, always helpful staff is on top of everything! The rooms are nice, though on the smallish side, and corridor traffic can be a little loud, though I never missed a good Night sleep in the super comfortable bed. The bathroom was large and clean with everything you need provided. Located of Roosevelt Rd betwent Guting and CKS Memorial Hall Stations the MRT will get You anywhere in Taipei fast. I recommend this hotel for business travelers.

Good hotel in Good safe location
We stayed 5 nights during recent Typhoon. We was in a Superior room (207). The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was modern, clean and contained jacuzzi. Breakfast was acceptable unless you don't eat pork, as pork was in almost everything, which reduced variety for my partner, but I loved the pork mince, veg and garlic dish. The staff were friendly and helpful, although their English was limited. We did have a few issues due to the typhoon, eg, no air conditioning and no water for approx 24 hrs, however this was beyond their control, they were very apologetic, and even went out and bought portable fans to place in all the rooms. Hotel located half way between Guting and CSK Memorial MRT... 5 mins walk either station We travelled to Hualien for three days and they were happy to store our luggage for us until we return on the weekend for another four nights. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to our friends. Coffee/ hot chocolate machine excellent, and Free wifi was fast.

Tucked away, no frills, close to metro, great.
Spent about 5 days here. It's a no frills experience. Not that this is bad. Check in was a breeze. The room (executive) was comfortable, bed was firm as other posters have mentioned but I had no trouble sleeping there. Internet was good. Breakfast has the usual toast and butter etc. The Chinese selection was a little odd, meaning that there was lunch/dinner food at 8am in the morning. But the location was perfect, about 2-3 blocks to exit 2 of the CKS memorial MRT station. The food places nearby were really good and cheap. Walkable to other parts of Taipei. The jacuzzi in the Exec room was ok. Will take about 40 min to really completely fill it so I didnt really use it much. But I really enjoyed this hotel overall and felt it was a great deal. There is a small gym upstairs as well as coin-op laundry facilities, they give you detergent to use. It is tucked away in an alley but if you follow the directions you will find the hotel ok. I am from the US so I am comparing the hotel to US Standards.

Great Value for Money
The surrounding neighbourhood is quiet but action is never too far away coz the MRT is only a short 3 min walk away. The hotel staff (Fred) was very friendly and quick to recommend eateries around the area for a good and decent meal. Have seen other guests commenting on the hard mattresses so I had requested for soft ones in advance; so I had no problem at all falling asleep. The executive room that I was in was also very spacious! No issues at all with housekeeping and other hotel amenities. Will recommend Saual Keh Hotel to all.

Poor stay here, we requested a higher floor room but getting ground floor room. The toilet in that room having hkind of problem, those dirty water will blow up and spread on the floor. And we request to change the room, the hitel staff ask us to pay additional fee.

Low cost, high quality in central Taipei
One night stay, probably just as well because the room, although perfectly presented and very comfortable had no windows. Now, if there had been a window, I'd probably have complained about the noise .. but it's not for the claustrophic. Slept like a log, DELICIOUS breakfast, great location right near the CKS metro and opposite the excellent Mr Mark bakery. Excellent value for the price.

The right hotel for my stay
It was the right price, right size and right comfort hotel for my stay. Staff is very friendly and hospitable, breakfast was not in cafe around the corner but at lobby and was surprisingly good. Wifi connection was also good. I returned to the same hotel after the weekend and the hotel let me leave my luggage over the weekend without a fee. Thank you so much for that!!! I would definitely stay here again, and recommend others to try this hotel too.

Reasonable Value City Stay
The location is quite central, and within 5 min walk from subway (MRT) station to hotel. There're shops and eateries around, plus an indoor market nearby. The first staff met was not particularly welcoming (likely just his personal style) but subsequent others met were more engaging and helpful. Room size is not big but shower room is spacious and neat. It has a safe, bar fridge, and kettle with coffee and tea bags provided. One side of the room wall has a rather big dirt mark, and the other has a hole, patched by masking tape, somewhat not that tidy. Included breakfast was quite ok with mainly Asian food, and with good selection of hot drinks provided by a dispenser. Price was pretty competitive, comparing with other similar hotels and location, in quite a big city.

Do not expect the staff to help change the mattress to soft. Do not expect them to upgrade your room if you book from this website. The breakfast is not good; the bread taste stale. Gym is just a stationary bicycle and treadmill there is not air conditioning. Room condition is not well kept, you can see dust at corners of cupboards; suspected not vacuumed.

Stayed there for 6D5N during my holiday in Taipei. Super clean hotel room and lobby, maybe cos it is relatively new. the staffs are very friendly, one of them even speaks fluent Japanese, so Japanese friends, you guys don't have to worry about communication!

A home at a great location
It is a small hotel newly renovated and so the fitting is superb. The room is not big yet it is quite comfortable. It is very near to the MRT station. The staff are very friendly and also make you feel at home. There are magazines and maps for you to plan your trip and some newspaper for you to read in leisure in the dining area. You can always help yourself with cups of hot drink while reading.

Though the hotel is off the the main street, it`s not difficult to find. Since cab doesn`t cost much in Taipe your best option is take a cab from taipe main station to the hotel. Special THANKS go to Mr. Chung Hao Lune who find me accomodations when most of the hotels were fully booked during new year time.

Great Location but noisy water pipes in the room
The location of the hotel is excellent. However, we could not sleep on the first night due to the noise of the water pipes in the wall. Basically, every time someone from the neighbouring rooms goes to the toilet or takes a shower, you will hear the loud sounds of water flowing in the wall. We made a complaint about the noise of the water pipes to the front desk but their staff just played dumb with us. The hotel front desk suggested that we move to the top floor despite the fact they don't believe there was any problem with the noise and the water pipes. Funny enough, our new room did not have any problems with the water pipes and the associated noises. We would not stay here again simply because the attitude of the front desk was not professional or friendly at all.

Hotel is close to MRT station, there is a delicious beef rice restaurant right outside of thr MRT station. Safe neighborhood, hotel staff is friendly and helpful, free breakfast until 9:30am everyday, wedding studio is close by, I recommend France Star wedding studio (Emily(speaks a little English) and Ceasar (speaks Cantonese & mandarin) is very nice) I needed my package to be rushed and they finished it in 3 days! The only bad thing is the bed is too hard, my husband and I couldn't get any good night sleep (unable to sleep in until Tokyo)

Its Value for money! Plus points- 10 mins walk to CKS Memorial Hall Stn. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel and rooms are very clean. The rooms were made up everyday with fresh towels replaced. Complimentary breakfast, simple but yet substantial. Room for improvement - Should have more staff at front office to communicate in English. Only 1 or 2 can speak and understand English. Would pose a problem if they are not on duty when you need some info and guide on locations. There is no shopping in the vicinity, only an indoor market when you exit at no.3 CKS stn. Its relatively a residential area. There should be English instructions given in operating the air conditioner in the room.

I took the most expensive room they had, still it was cheaper than I had expected. Easy access to subway and close to downtown, 2 stops from the Taipei main station. The room is quiet, spacious and clean. The bathroom is quite nice. However, breakfast is mediocre at best.
