Hilton Al Houara is a visually stunning hotel with beautiful landscaping and architecture, but unfortunately, the service and hospitality fall short of a true 5-star experience. We arrived at 7 AM after a long journey, yet despite booking half-board, we weren’t allowed to have breakfast and had to wait until 4 PM for check-in — a poor welcome that lacked flexibility and care.
Throughout our stay, we felt restricted rather than relaxed. The pool was often dirty, breakfast was limited and repetitive, and while dinner was enjoyable, the service felt inconsistent. Some guests were clearly prioritised over others, with staff showing favouritism. The hostess at the Argan restaurant, in particular, was dismissive and unwelcoming.
The hotel’s remote location — nearly an hour from Tangier’s city centre — made getting around inconvenient. Basic amenities like water were also stingy, with only two small bottles provided per day.
What felt most disheartening was the treatment on our last day. It genuinely felt like the staff stopped caring simply because we were checking out. For a resort that markets itself as luxury, the lack of consistent hospitality and warmth left us disappointed. A beautiful property with potential, but currently not living up to the 5-star standard.
