Bring family or friends together for a weekend or a stay in the heart of the Meuse coasts, between Verdun and Lac de Madine in our 4-star "Gîte des Roises" for 4 people!

To get together and make the most of it, head for the small Meuse village of Thillot, in the Lorraine Regional Natural Park, for a breath of fresh air: hiking trail, vineyards and orchards, historic sites, discovery of the farm and beaches are all around our vacation rental. Something to keep everyone occupied!

Superb property, generous host
Superb property, best we have stayed in (out of six). Well equipped with everything and more you will need, plenty of plates, glasses, dishware and cookware. Proper oven. Do not be put off by the appearance from the street - the property is comfortable, spacious, peaceful and homely, with wonderful garden, terrace, and seating/relaxing areas. We are a couple and enjoyed the space. Great location, easy for Verdun, Metz, Nancy, and villages and sites along the Côtes de Meuse. Lovely walking in the woods and hillside, and to the next village for the splendid local butcher! Wifi doesn't work outside. Mme Collot, a warm, generous and friendly host.

Really nice and cosy!!
Excellent property. It has everything you would need, very well equipped, cosy and warm. Lots of toys for the children. The location is peaceful and less than 1 hour driving to Nancy, Mezt, Verdun or Luxemburg. It was a perfect stay, the only slightly negative point I could think off is that the Wifi wasn't really fast. But I will definitely rate the place with 5 stars. Also the owners were helpful and welcoming.

Our hosts greeted us very nicely and were responsive to our messages about our arrival time and our request for information about the municipal water issue that occurred on one of the days we were there. The house is much nicer in actuality than what you see in the photos, and so is the garden. It is an old stone house with thick walls, so it was colder in the first floor of the house than outside (upstairs is cozier). The area is very interesting, we enjoyed it. When we departed, we were able to find the area where there are municipal containers for glass, plastic and paper garbage, but we could not find the containers for regular garbage.

Ein Haus zum Wohlfühlen
Das Haus liegt von der Straße zurück und ist von einem Garten umrahmt, von den Terrassen aus hat man einen wunderbaren Blick ins Grüne. Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich die Küche, das Bad, der Essbereich und die Wohnecke, im Obergeschoss die Schlafgelegenheiten. Die Wohnung liegt perfekt für Wanderungen in die Wälder von Lothringen und Ausflüge zu den Gedenkorten rund um Verdun. Außerdem sind die Städtchen der Region wie Bar-le-Duc, Commercy oder Toul, allesamt touristische Perlen, zu entdecken. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Fine holiday cottage
We spent one week with our two daughters here to visit the region. The house is very spacy and the garden is a big plus. Also mme Collot is very responsive and welcomed us with coockies and home made juice. Keep in mind that the house has only one bedroom with a rather small bed for two persons and there are two seperate beds on the loft upstairs. Worked for us, but just to keep in mind. Also the dishwasher didn’t work for us, because it was broken. All in all, great cottage to visit and explore the region.

Guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Unternehmungen, sowohl Wanderungen als auch Besichtigungen von historischen Stätten. Erholung und Ruhe findet man im Garten am Haus.

Wunderschönes Haus in toller Umgebung
Wir waren im August 2019 mit unseren beiden Mädels in diesem traumhaften Haus. Von diesem Haus kann man einfach nur schwärmen. Es ist alles vorhanden was man sich vorstellen kann. Zusätzlich gibt es draußen eine Tischtennisplatte, im Haus einen Kicker sowie diverse Spiele für die Kinder. Die Vermieter sind äußerst zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir haben schon mehrere Urlaube in Ferienhäusern verbracht aber keines hat uns mehr überzeugt! Es war das Beste Ferienhaus was wir je hatten! Vielen Dank

Een van de beste gîtes die ik tot nu heb gehad. Alles klopte er gewoon. Aan alles was gedacht, zoals overal verlichting, een toilet op eerste verdieping. Echt een aanrader.

Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und auch im Hochsommer herrlich kühl. Die Nähe zum Wald ist für Wanderungen sehr praktisch. Ankunft, Schlüsselübergabe , Abreise, alles völlig problemlos. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Schönes kühles Haus an heißen Sommertagen in ruhiger Lage
Thillot sowie viele Orte drumzu wirken ein bisschen wie vor 100 Jahren und zum Großteil ganz schön verlassen. Dazwischen findet man immer wieder Neubauten oder hübsch restaurierte Gemäuer. Nette Vermieter, hübscher Garten mit Terrasse, Spielhäuschen, Kindertisch mit Bänken und Sonnenschirm, Tischtennis, Tischfußball, Gesellschaftsspiele, franz. Bücher, oben WC, abgeschlossene Schlafkammer mit schmalem Doppelbett, offene Empore mit zwei ziemlich kurzen Einzelbetten, Lüftungsanlage dort leider recht störend, in Küche, Bad und WC allerdings eine feine Sache. Waschmaschine vor Ort (Pulver mitbringen!). Spülmaschine mit Tabs, Kaffee- und Senseo-Maschine, Toaster, Mikrowelle,, Wasserkocher. Verdun, Metz, Pont-à-Mousson, Lac de Madine gut zu erreichen. Vom Haus aus schöner Waldspaziergang möglich, Brotwagen hält 8:15-8:30 Uhr vor dem Haus, außer Donnerstag. Dann hat auch der Bäcker in Hannoncourt geschlossen. Carrefour-Markt mit Tankstelle in Fresnes-sur-Woëvre. Toller Ausblick von der Gedenkstätte in Les Éparges. Schloss Hattonchâtel leider nicht öffentlich zugänglich (Hotel). Nette Ausflugsmöglichkeit "Les Étangs de Longeau".

SUPER!!
Gîte très agréable,avec un temps très chaud "semaine de canicule" donc on était heureux de retrouver une maison fraîche en rentrant d'excursion . Très bien placée géographiquement , pour visiter Verdun et ses alentours. Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce gîte.

ruhiges Haus in wunderschöner Landschaft
Das Haus ist etwas abseits der Straße und damit sehr ruhig. Haus und Terrasse sind gepflegt und sauber. Man kann bei schönem Wetter gut draußen die Sonne genießen. Die meisten Städte sind gut zu erreichen und es lohnt sich, sie auch zu besuchen. Die Stätten aus dem 1. Weltkrieg sind ebenfalls gut zu erreichen! Wir haben unseren Urlaub genossen. Überrascht hat uns der Wein aus dieser Gegend ! Insgesamt sehr ok, nette Vermieterin gute Unterkunft!

Mooie woning op een relatief goede locatie
Sfeervol en ruim huis waar je ook met gezin en 2 kinderen naartoe zou kunnen. We hebben een fijne tijd gehad. Wat wel een minpunt is is het veel te smalle bed. De vaatwasser was verder kapot tijdens ons verblijf. De gastvrouw is vriendelijk, maar praat vrijwel geen Engels. Dat is overigens geen probleem geweest.

Wunderbarer Kurzurlaub in ruhiger Umgebung
Wir haben unseren Silvesterurlaub in Thillot sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr groß und schön eingerichtet. Die Einrichtung, besonders die Küche, ist sehr umfangreich und man kann auch gut kochen oder backen, wenn man denn möchte. Ein besonderes Highlight war der Kicker. Es war auch sehr ruhig. Thillot ist ein guter Ausgangsort für die Besichtigung der Stätten des 1. Weltkriegs, insbesondere rund um Verdun. Außerdem konnten wir Metz und Nancy gut erreichen. Wir haben uns über die Gastfreundschaft der Familie Collot sehr gefreut und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Geräumiges Haus in schöner Landschaft
Mit 4 Personen haben wir angenehme Tage dort verbracht. Die Umgebung war idyllisch. Zum Einkaufen müsste man allerdings in den nächsten Ort (8km) fahren. Der Garten war gut möbliert.
