“This was the best place I could have chosen for my week long visit to Valparaiso! Set atop a small hill a mile south of Sotomayor Square the guest house is in a more quiet neighborhood. This area is convenient for visiting the UNESCO areas, but much more peaceful and safe for walking around. The room (I chose #3) had a view of the garden/ courtyard and was always cool and comfortable even in the hot weather. “Cutest hotel I’ve been in. Love the room and decor. Location is up the hill so be prepared to climb if you walk. Uber would be a good option but we walked. Breakfast was simple. Staff were excellent. Google maps showed the correct location but announced we had arrived when we were still 1min away. Hotel is mostly below street level and not easy to see.”

“Fauna Hotel is located at mid-hill level of Valparaiso and visit to historic buildings can be done in foot. The hotel also lies in restricted area where large vans are forbidden to enter. Passengers and luggages have to be dropped off the main road and there is a distance of 10 min walk to move between the hotel and drop off location. However, taxi and small vans can reach the hotel at closer range. But still there is a distance of about 30 metres to walk through.
