"So. This review only refers to the hotel. Schluchsee and the surrounding area is amazing and I absolutely recommend the restaurant Seehof in Schluchsee, although they also have service issues. The hotel is by far not as nice and comfortable as advertised in the pictures and on Expedia as a whole. "A wonderful three night stay with several meal options, hiking, and shopping! The room in the main building with balcony was wonderful, bridge view and creek was very well thought out with several plugs, spacious, and a comfortable seating area. You don’t feel “stuffed” in the room. Parking, WIFI and breakfast were great! This hotel serves the Viking cruise line and other touring groups so they work hard to make it better than most! The chef from Portugal in the lower shop canteen was wonderful and he spent a little time with us because it was rather quiet. When you are so far from home the extra friendly visits mean more than can be expressed! We should have remembered your name!"

"I chose this hotel because it had a restaurant with a garden that backs onto the river. Unfortunately, the night we stayed (Friday) it was closed. There didn’t seem to be that many options nearby. Our room was on the 2nd floor with no lift. The room was comfortable enough but very basic. The breakfast was an extra 10€ per person so I would not rate this hotel value for money. It did us for an overnight stop but I probably wouldn’t stay again."

Provided with us a card which allowed us to visit numbers of place free of cost - saved used around $$$. Issue checking in due to iPad not working (as no front desk available). The booking said they provide with a card which allows us to travel for free on local transport - never got it."

Although the email said we had to collect the key from the safe due to late check in, there was someone at the reception who not only checked us in but walked us to the room & showed us around. Room itself was clean, cosy & warm. added bonus was there is ZERO light pollution so the night ky was amazing!"
