Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests to use on muddy walks. The only negative thing I could say is that there were these weird green lights on the roof that stayed on all night. I think they were safety lights maybe and it was too bright for me when sleeping (I am sensitive to that kind of thing). All the food was excellent quality and would highly recommend going to the restaurant for dinner - the drinks were expertly served, and the food was some of the best meals we’ve ever had! My husband and I both said it’s the loveliest Hotel we’ve ever been to. Every inch of the property is stunning. The owners thought of every detail, and then some. The staff were unbelievably amazing. Saying goodbye to them was hard to do. We had the most amazing meals on site by a tremendously talented chef.
