Lovely Lakeview Getaway
Comfortable, cosy bungalow that is exactly as described & pictured on Vrbo. The gracious, friendly owners are onsite & greeted us when we arrived & said goodbye when we departed. The bungalow features a great layout for two couples as there are two king bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one of which has a second door to the common area. These private areas are separated by the living room, dining room, & kitchen which provides some welcome privacy. An SUV or 4-wheel drive car may be helpful accessing the property which is reached via a steep, unpaved drive. Other minor quibbles are low water pressure in the showers & uneven Wi-Fi. Overall we’d heartily recommend this listing to vacationers.

Always a Pleasure
This was our fourth stay at this beautiful home in the past four years, and we already can't wait for our fifth. The location is perfect: private and secluded on the clifftop, but incredibly close and convenient to everything. The house is warm, welcoming, and always immaculate, with two fabulous master suites and a spacious deck with incredible views. Most special of all, though, are Cindy and Ed, the two warmest, nicest hosts you could ever hope to have in a rental property; they're kind and responsive, always available for anything you need. I've put this in a review before, and I'll say it again: coming back to this house feels like coming home. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Seneca Lake
The house is located on a bluff above Seneca Lake with an outstanding view. It had all the comforts of home. Cindy was a great host, helping with winery and restaurant recommendations. We will definitely come back next time we are in the FLX region.

Third Time's the Charm
This was the third time we stayed in Cindy & Ed's lovely home in the past four years, and it certainly won't be the last. It feels like home away from home: a clean, cozy, comfortable place to relax. The property is beautiful, the views of Seneca Lake are gorgeous, and the location is convenient to everything. Cindy & Ed are kind, gracious hosts, always thoughtful and helpful in any way you need, and always looking to find ways to make your stay even better. I can't recommend them, or the home, highly enough.

This is my best ever experience. The owners were SUPER nice. The property was clean and exactly as advertised. The owners assisted with my mom who is older and has some mobility challenges. The cottage was well stocked - there were ample towels and little things we forgot, like ziploc bags. I highly recommend. Jim from Texas

A fantastic getaway
I brought my mom on our first solely-together trip in many years, and both she and I were thrilled with this clifftop home. Cindy was incredibly welcoming and even did a little homework for us for restaurant and shopping recommendations. The home is set up perfectly for a family group and each bathroom is thoughtfully appointed. We didn't get to cook but the kitchen is well stocked and has a large refrigerator. The amount and quality of amenities is a giant step above the average rental. The deck and view are what you come for and having a quiet sit with the birds singing while watching boats on the lake is quite lovely. We're looking forward to coming back again.

Amazing Seneca Lake retreat
If you’re traveling to Seneca Lake in the finger lakes this is the best place to stay. Minutes from downtown and close to all of the wineries, breweries and amazing hiking. The home was clean, spacious, and had an unbeatable view of the lake. You have direct views of the incredible finger lakes sunset. The hosts were friendly and accommodating and made the stay even more comfortable. We loved our trip and would absolutely stay here again!!

Beautiful spot for a double birthday weekend getaway! The accommodations were very comfortable and clean with a phenomenal view of Lake Seneca! Hosts, Cindy and Ed, were very helpful with recommendations of walking trails, vineyards, restaurants and even hospitals! Definitely would recommend this place to friends and family!!

Cindy was amazing, everything was just as listed, the two bedroom home was perfect, views are great, home is open and large, furniture and beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some! Cindy was always available to assist with anything we needed or to provide a meal recommendation. This property is so convenient with most things from Corning to Ithaca only a 30 minute drive away. This lovely 2 BR/2 BA house overlooks Seneca Lake--huge deck with chairs so you can sit and enjoy the view! The house is furnished beautifully and is super comfortable. Nice mattresses, linens, kitchen necessities, furniture. Bedrooms are very comfortable with nice TVs and streaming. Location is only a couple of miles from Watkins Glen, a cute town with lots of charm and also history (Watkins Glen Raceway)

Fantastic weekend with friends
This property is amazing! We stayed here with another couple for two nights, and wish we had stayed longer so we could enjoy the house, lake views and walking trails even more. The house and property are so inviting that you'll want to spend a day there simply relaxing, drinking wine and enjoying the lake views. The house decor is beautiful - very clean and very high end. Both bedrooms overlook the lake with amazing views. We're already planning to return next year!

Great Place and Scenery on Seneca Lake
Cindy and Ed were fantastic hosts. The home was immaculate and the views were stunning. I was even able to spot a pair of bald eagles on the last day. The house is minutes away from vineyards, Glen Falls, and local restaurants. Definitely plan to visit again. Looking forward to the next trip.

Wow! How Perfect!
The home is spotless, beautiful and sits up above the lake on a bluff. It has essentially a wall of windows facing the deck and the lake. The views are amazing. Two bedrooms flank the large and comfortable living room with lovely views from everywhere. Each room has its own bathroom and every comfort is available. Our hosts were lovely people - fabulous to deal with and very helpful. I would recommend this rental to anyone. We had an idyllic stay.

Great place to getaway!
The location of this house is ideal for exploring the Finger Lakes; Lake Seneca, Keuka and Cayuga Lakes in particular. The view from the property overlooking Lake Seneca is amazing; especially at sunset. The house is exactly as described - Very clean, comfortable and inviting. And the hosts were incredibly gracious and helpful. It was a pleasure to get to spend time with them as well. I would recommend this house to my friends and family.

Great Getaway weekend on Lake Seneca

The pictures don’t do this property justice! It’s very spacious, has great amenities, comfy beds and spectacular views of Seneca lake! Cindy and Ed were great hosts and very accessible! They provided us with all the tools for the charcoal grill and wood for the fire pit! It was too hot for us to use the pit, but we sat by it anyway to enjoy the views!

BOOK IT NOW! You won't regret
The pictures do not do the property justice. Beautiful view on expansive deck of Seneca Lake. VERY close to Watkins Glen and lots of breweries and wineries and beautiful State Parks. GO TO WATKIN GLEN STATE PARK. Do the Gorge Trail. The property is super clean and LOVE the layout - two bedrooms split plan both with King Beds and Ensuites. Great for couples. Well stocked kitchen and upgraded appliances. Owners live next door and very helpful and not intrusive. The only slight 'con' is the driveway to the property is a bit tricky but Cindy made sure we got there. Trails on the property also and nice cleared area if want a outdoor fire. We loved our stay and highly recommend the property, the area and parks.

Worth the Trip

We totally loved this special home: fabulous views of Lake Seneca, close to the heart of the Finger Lakes, 5 minute drive to the waterfront in Watkins Glen. The grounds were nothing short of spectacular including several easy to hike trails featuring a hidden gorge alive with flowering plants and ancient trees. The home was well-appointed and the hosts were helpful, available, delightful but gave us all the space and privacy we needed. Would return in a heartbeat.

A Hidden Gem, Even Better the Second Time
We loved this house, this property, and this experience so much last summer that we booked it again for 10 more days this summer. It felt like coming home. The property was once again immaculate when we arrived: fresh and clean and well-appointed, with everything we needed for a week-and-a-half stay. The living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms are all large, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. And, once again — we seem to have excellent luck with weather when we stay here — the real star was the incredible deck that runs the length of the house. The sweeping lake views and sunsets made it our go-to-spot for all hours or the day. The location of the property is ideal — less than five minutes to Watkins Glen, and absurdly convenient not just to the trails, wineries, and breweries on Seneca Lake, but also to those on Keuka and Cayuga too. Once again, photos and descriptions on the listing are current and accurate -- though they honestly don't do the home, the view, or the property justice. They're all even more lovely and comfortable in person. We’ve stayed here twice now, and we’re already thinking about our next visit(s.)

Wonderful Home in Watkins Glen
We could not have asked for a better place to stay while in Watkins Glen. The owners Cindy and Ed were wonderful hosts and thought of everything you may need while there. Although they live on the property you would never know they are there. The property is well maintained with trails that lead to a waterfall (if you are up for the climb down and up) and a fire pit which we never did end up using because it was so hot when we were there. The house itself is very clean and the pictures online really don't do it justice. The back deck was wonderful and one of our favorite spots to relax and drink the local wine. You are a quick drive from downtown watkins glen, grocery stores, hiking and wineries. If you are looking for a well maintained, well stocked and relaxing place to stay this is the one for you. Would absolutely go back and/or recommend others stay here as well. Thank you Cindy and Ed for a wonderful stay!

Absolute perfection!
Absolutely incredible trip. First of all, the location: the pictures don't do the view justice - it is such a beautiful spot and the deck overlooks Seneca Lake. Many mornings and evenings were spent on the deck, reading or having breakfast with the family, or nursing a cup of coffee or wine as we marveled at the view. It was beautiful. It's also a great location for everything we wanted to see - many parks within 20-45 minutes from the house and plenty of wineries within a few minutes drive. Second, the house itself - large, open living areas made for a comfortable space for us to spend our downtime. The two bedrooms and bathrooms worked well for us as well. It's also very well-stocked, with many things that we wouldn't have even thought we'd need being made available (and a lovely bottle of wine chilling in the fridge!). And third, the hosts! Cindy and Ed were absolutely incredible. They answered all of our questions in the weeks leading up to our trip and then made themselves available whenever we had any concerns or questions. They certainly made our trip easy and fun, with plenty of recommendations. We're telling all our friends that this is the place to go. Loved it!

This secluded haven provided us with the rest and relaxation we needed. Ed and Cindy are amazing hosts and were extremely attentive to our needs. They had great trail maps ready for the property and a thorough list of all the best restaurants and wineries. We loved our stay at Clifftop on Seneca! The house is beautiful, clean, accommodating, and close to Watkins Glen and many area attractions! Cindy and Ed were great hosts. The trails on the property, the amazing deck, and the fire pit all contributed to our experience. We also felt very safe re: COVID. The businesses in the area were very careful and respectful of social distancing, masks, etc. Cindy and Ed, thanks sharing your property with us for a few days!

Clean, comfortable place!
Really clean, comfortable, and spacious. Two large bedrooms (both with large private bathrooms) on opposite sides of the living room, for relative privacy for two couples. Extremely well furnished kitchen. Terrific deck overlooking Seneca Lake from top of "cliff" -- we ate most breakfasts and dinners there. Direct access to deck from living room and both bedrooms, so they all had good views as well. Very helpful hosts, who offered suggestions on multiple topics. Amenities include a charcoal grill (charcoal and lighter fluid provided). as well as Adirondack chairs around a fire pit with more views of the lake. The trade-off for the view is that the location, while quite close to the town of Watkins Glen, is really accessible only by car up a steep, unpaved drive (not a problem for us in summer) with a tricky turn off the main road.

Everything was really great! The house was immaculate and stylish decorated! Very homey and comfortable . There are views of the lake from all the windows, sliders and deck! Your Own Private Hideaway
I can't say enough good things about this house, the beautiful (private) property, or the fantastic owners/hosts. The house is clean, comfortable, well-appointed, and well-maintained. It feels like a home away from home. The kitchen is large and lovely, the living room open and inviting. Both bedrooms had extremely comfortable beds and large, luxurious bathrooms attached. The real star, though, is the incredible deck that runs the length of the house, with access from the living room and both bedrooms. Incredible, sweeping (sunset) views of Seneca Lake, with lounge chairs and a table and chairs for four that quickly became our every day breakfast and dinner spot, quickly made the deck our go-to spot at all times of the day. The property is fantastic too -- sitting high above the lake for those great views, on a private plot of immaculately maintained land. We loved having our own walking/hiking/running trails on the property, and the fire pit area was fabulous too. You essentially have your own private hideaway to stay, to relax, and even to explore. The owners, Cindy and Ed, were simply amazing hosts. Incredibly sweet and kind, with lovely little touches like chilling a bottle of wine for our arrival, setting us up with some tasting passes for a favorite winery, and always making sure we had plenty of wood for the fire pit. They live on the property as well, so there's great peace of mind, knowing that if anything goes wrong, the owners are right there to help. They were wonderfully warm and gracious hosts, with the easiest check-in and check-out process we've ever enjoyed for a rental property. The photos and descriptions on the listing are current and accurate -- though they honestly don't do the home, the view, or the property justice. They're all even more lovely and impressive in person. We're already looking forward to staying here again.

Ideal hosts, house and location
Spending a week at Cindy and Ed´s Clifftop was a very pleasant experience. You can really feel at home there! The house has everything you need and more. It has the ideal layout for two couples to share. The property is secluded but near enough to walk to town (besides, Schuyler County is COVID-19-free). The views are spectacular. With so many things to do around, you still don´t want to leave the terrace. And, best of all, Cindy and Ed are always a phone call away. We had a problem with our car and when we asked them for advice, they completely took over and solved the situation. It´s impossible to find better hosts than them. Thanks again Cindy and Ed!

Wonderful property and owners! Amazing views and relaxing setting.
Ed and Cindy were gracious and friendly from the very beginning to the end. They were helpful with any questions and eager to create a comfortable and easy experience during the renting process as well as our stay there. We were very happy in every way before, during and after our stay. For example after we left I had realized I left some medication in one of the drawers, and before I even had a chance to call, Cindy had already packaged it up and shipped it to me!
