"Staff were polite and friendly, and check-in was smooth. The rooms were as shown in the photos—no surprises there. However, by the time I arrived for breakfast at 8:30 AM, many items were already gone. Refills were slow, and some items—including plates & pancakes —were not replenished at all, which was disappointing. Given the number of guests, they should have been better prepared. "

"when the lamp wasn’t functioning properly in our room, a staff member prompt took it away. I promised to get us another one after he tried bulbs and they weren’t working. He was very kind and very helpful and everyone at the hotel was friendly. It was beautiful and clean and had more than enough room for three of us. The air conditioning worked well. The manager was very friendly and we will definitely be back."

"The Billy Barker hotel was an amazing place! The food was great; the location was convenient. The ambiance of the Gold Rush era was all around. We had a medical issue at home and had to cancel our second night abrubtly, and the desk person said that she would see what she could do (I booked through Expedia). My receipt showed the one night only. Very much appreciated!"
