I booked a double queen bed room, only to find upon arrival that we were given a single queen with a couch fold out bed. I don’t know if it was Expedia’s fault or the hotel, but please be careful when booking your own room and call to confirm you get what you paid for. Other than that mishap, the hotel was very nice! We’ve been on a long road trip and we’re just so sick of the brand chains, we thought we’d try something different. It’s fine. We had a clean, large room, decorated in Northwoods kitsch. We upgraded to a River View room to cut down on road noise. True - the room is right on the river, but those rooms just sit perpendicular to the building along the road, sort of joined at the corner, so while you are on the river, you also have a perfect view of the highway over the bridge 50 yards away. Unless sitting on the deck watching the river is important, it’s probably not worth the upgrade.
