Wedding weekend

We stayed here for our son’s wedding weekend. The location was great and the space in the house worked perfect for us! Was a great place for the groomsmen to get together before the wedding.

SMELLS LIKE SEWAGE; OWNER DOESN'T CARE

Please do not stay at this property. It smells like human sewage and the host doesn't care. We arrived for a 2-night stay to see the Chiefs/Bills with our kids. It was an early Christmas present for our family. We walked in and the house smelled overwhelmingly like artificial air freshener. We removed the plug-ins--that smell gives us all a headache--and went out for a walk. When we returned to the property, the artificial smell had been replaced with the smell of human waste. We immediately contacted the host, via the VRBO app, but he was nonresponsive. Concerned about the noxious odor, we contacted the fire department. Upon arrival, they confirmed the sewage smell, but could not locate the leak. We texted/called the host again; again, no response. Because the smell was making us all feel nauseous and dizzy, we decided to move to a hotel and request a refund from the host. At 11am the next morning, the host responds that there is no issue-"his plumber has confirmed"-and he will not issue a refund. In subsequent conversations, the host has called us liars and told us to get lawyers involved. Perhaps the smell did disappear; we wouldn't know, we were at the Chiefs game and the antagonistic conversations with the host did not make us feel safe to return to the property. The number of air fresheners in the house leads us to believe the sewage smell is a persistent problem. There are many other nice homes on the Plaza. You don't need to choose one with an apathetic host.

KC getaway

We had an amazing stay at the West Plaza in this beautiful home. It was perfect for our family of 5 and the location is incredible. The owner was very helpful and took care of one minor issue immediately. I would highly recommend this place and hope to stay again on our next trip to KC.

Host Completely Unresponsive.

Host never responded to ANY of our several messages, including one regarding a safety concern (a heavy door was tilted precariously against a wall—we had to move it ourselves and lay it down on the floor in sun room to ensure it didn’t fall on us or our dog). A second transaction right before check-in to process the deposit was a hassle. We never found or saw the advertised Game Room, perhaps it was in the garage to which we were not given access. House was nice enough, but is showing wear and needs attention. Kitchen equipment OK, but house did have plenty of supplies, e.g. soaps, detergent, etc.

The perfect place for our family

This was a beautifully remodeled, spacious house in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of The Plaza — it couldn’t have been more perfect for our first visit to Kansas City! We were in town to see our hometown Minnesota Twins play the Kansas City Royals, and this was a great place to be comfortable in between outings. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in KC!

Family friendly and great central location!

Our family of six stayed comfortably at this home just a short walk from the plaza. The bedrooms were very family friendly and there was plenty of room for everyone. We would stay again!

Excellent location, amazing property!

We had a great time! The property was just as pictured. Very clean and spacious! Especially helpful was how conveniently located it was. One bonus we didn’t realize when we booked was the air hockey table! Everyone in our group had a great time all around!!

Lovely house, great location

Thanks so much, we enjoyed the house very much. I did wish you had been proactive and communicated with me about checkin before I had to contact you, since we were checking in the next day. The only thing we had a problem with was the lack of silverware for a house that size. We ordered takeout and could barely find enough forks and there weren't enough knives or spoons for the 6 of us. There were not enough pots and pans either, and we do like to cook when we travel because some of my family have food allergies, and that would have been a problem if we had stayed any longer.

Great for a group

Property is in a great location - Plaza is walkable, downtown a short drive. Well suited for a group. Off street parking with an available garage certainly a plus when it snowed.

Outstanding in every way!

This is a really great place to stay….The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and was convenient and clean. The backyard with the fish pond was cute, quiet, and would be nice to sit outside in warmer weather. The location is convenient to the Westport area, Country Club Plaza, and the Nelson Atkins Art Museum. The house is reasonably close to the airport, only about 30 minutes. I would definitely stay here again!
