Quiet, Private and Comfortable nestled on 8 acres of private property

In the Black Hills of South Dakota, this new log cabin is located four miles west of Lead on a private road leading to a meadow. The cabin sets on 7.8 acres with plenty of room to roam, park snowmobiles and a camper or two.

The interior of the cabin is log and sheetrock. Tongue-and-groove knotty pine enhance the cathedral ceilings. The cabin has a loft with two queen beds and a bathroom. Downstairs has two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and the other with bunkbeds), full bath, laundry room, open kitchen, and living room. The cabin has a front and back deck equipped with a gas grill. Air conditioned and has a new dishwasher.

The cabin is also located in a snowmobile trail (#5) and is close to Deer Mountain and Tery Peak Ski Resorts. There is room to roam for nature walks, do some hiking, and watch the many deer that frequent the area.
Please note: Special rates apply for the Sturgis Rally week.
Wedding party events will be based on an individual basis and is subject to higher fees.

First time in South Dakota
First time visiting South Dakota and it is beautiful. The cabin was just as published. Very spacious. All the utensils, pot and pans you could ever want. There were even a few spices that were available to use. The owner was very friendly and promptly answered questions after messaging him. The grounds were perfect, quiet, and surrounded by trees. There's a restaurant within walking distance that had very good food. The TV's were very hard to figure out so a how-to sheet would have been nice to have. Also, the thermostat seemed to not be rigged correctly but a quick note to the owner was answered and we figured it out.

Love the Black Hills
I chose this cabin for the central location. Most of the sites are an hour to hour and an half away. Upon arrival we were greeted by 2 does and 3 fawns. All are evening visitors. Next morning there was a flock of turkeys and a peeping Tom marmot. Mel was quick to respond regarding a minor issue and kept us updated on what was going on. The cabin was very comfortable for the 2 of us. Nicely stocked kitchen. The floors were CLEAN walked around barefoot and no black feet.

Exactly what we wanted
My friends and I like to vacation in the Black Hills. We always try to find a location where we can hang out, outside. This location was perfect. No next door neighbors. Big firepit outside. Covered porch was great when it was raining! The beds were comfortable. We were 4 adult males and we were all comfortable. Having two bathrooms was excellent as well. The cell service was limited and the wifi was extremely slow but we don't go out there to be on our phones. We love enjoying being outdoors. Stepping off the back porch right into the woods was awesome. We were very happy with this location!

Great location and property right next to Rec Springs on the snow mobile trails. We had a 24 foot trailer and 2 two place snowmobile trailers and had room for parking even with all the snow. Property was great and exactly as described.

Cute cabins the woods
This is an adorable cabin convenient to Deadwood, Devils’s Tower, Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, and Badlands. Had some questions upon arrival which were immediately addressed by the owner. The cabin has adequate kitchen pots/pans/utensils to prepare meals. The master bed was comfortable. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location
Beautiful cabin. Location was awesome be aware of limited cell service but that is to be expected for being in such a remote location. That is not a negative for the rental just a reality of remote staying. So worth it for the remoteness of the cabin and the wildlife sighting. Would recommend to other travelers for sure. Owner is so communicative and helpful.

Great property~awesome setting!
We stayed for two nights during a week-long Black Hills adventure. The location is central to so many activities--exploring Spearfish Canyon, Custer, and Deadwood. The property itself is beautiful--wildflowers everywhere, amazing stars at night, and deer sightings every morning and evening. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and grill out! We definitely recommend this property for people traveling through the Black Hills area. Thank you!

Great Visit!
Thanks Mel and Marge for providing the perfect Black Hills cabin stay - our nights there exceded all of our expectations! Perfect location, great views, remote yet close to Lead and Deadwood. Our only regret was not planning a full day off from seeing the sites and relaxing more at your place. Thanks again!

Secluded Cozy Cabin
Our stay at the cabin was great. It was nice to have somewhere to go when it was raining, or we were just feeling tired, and still be able to enjoy our time! It's tucked away in a nice little spot where you hear minimal road noise and you would barely know there's campers near by. We saw multiple deer outside the cabin too! Cabin had plenty of room and having two bathrooms and laundry was very nice. We hope to visit again some day.

Cozy cabin close to skiing
We found the place easily from the directions given by the manager even in the dark. The space was furnished with all the necessities including extra blankets. We cooked several meals at the cabin and had the tools needed. The cabin was a little chilly in the 12° weather, but with the loft heaters on, we turned the ceiling fans on that brought the heat down to the main area. We enjoyed the quiet secluded location that was only minutes from ski rental business and about 10-15 min from Terry Peak ski resort. The only thing that could have been better was if the heat had been turned up a little prior to our arrival. It probably wouldn't be a big deal in warmer temperatures.
