Big Beautiful River House

Our entire family of 10 stayed here for Texas State graduation. Perfect location just outside of New Braunfels to get away from the city bustle. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful river frontage. Free entertainment just watching the boats off the huge back porch. Lots of family friendly games and activities. Hosts were communicative and responded to questions immediately. We are going back again next year for another graduation. We can’t wait to stay here again.

A Great Getaway

We absolutely loved the house. The kids enjoyed spending time down by the water. The house had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and a place to sit and eat. We honestly hated that we had to leave.

Fun Easter weekend!

We enjoyed our stay so much. It is such a beautiful and comfortable place. We had 8 adults and 2 kids and there was plenty of room for us to hang around and be comfortable. We LOVED the outside and being on the water. They have great outdoor activities that work for all ages. We had a blast and will definitely go back.

Great house for large group

Family vacay

I booked this stay for a weekend family vacation for 10 of us. The house was very spacious, had plenty of supplies needed for cooking, and lots of activities for the outdoor area. We spent most of our time enjoying the lake, roasting s'more's by the fire pit, and grilling on the patio. The cons of the stay would be the cleanliness of the home and outdoor area. There were cobwebs in the house, all over the patio furniture and door ways. The backyard area has huge potential if it was upkept better- a tree covered in cobwebs, poison ivy by the shed, and yellowjacket nests on the covered boat dock. This stay has great potential and hope this feedback helps.

Girls weekend

Great house for a great girls weekend. We had 8 adults- everyone had a comfy bed, plenty of space to spread out. Great kitchen area for everyone to be working in with a huge island. We enjoyed the large covered patio with plenty of seating. The proximity to the water is perfect- just a very short walk to get in and float. Short drive into NB was a bonus too. Chad and Gaby responded quickly to any questions we had. I definitely would recommend Opas Haus and we would love to come back!

Peaceful location

Great location for water activities yet close to many must sees in New Braunfels without the hustle and bustle of people. Very peaceful place at sunrise and sunset. Our family and friends are already planning another trip.

Great place for a large group

We enjoyed ourselves quite a lot. The space was good with enough amenities to cook meals there for our group. The patio was amazing, right on the water. Most of everything was comfortable, but there were a few things that probably need to be updated. The Queen bed in the secondary bedroom with ensuite bathroom has a pretty big dip in the center, making it uncomfortable to sleep in. Another of the bedrooms has a bed missing a headboard, which causes the bed to slide around a bit at night. Other than those issues, the place was great! Excellent communication with owners.

Would absolutely book again!

House was nice and big. Master bedroom was on the other side of the house from other bedrooms, which we liked. Big ole kitchen with room for several people to prepare meals. Not far from grocery stores (Walmart) and restaurants. Outside was nice. We sat around and visited at night… somehow they had no mosquitos!! Will happily recommend to all my friends and family! Communication with owners was awesome.

Better than the Best

This amazing house will up the fun level of your escape! There are tons of comfortable places to gather. We considered doing a triathalon with corn hole, ping pong and kayak races. But we are age enriched so we just sat around and ate and gabbed. The beds are very comfortable. The air conditioning works great even when it’s 103 outside. Lots of kitchen supplies. (Bring tin foil and ziplocks - we had a lot of left overs.)

Spacious and Fun!

We enjoyed our stay with friends and their families. Plenty of room for a party of 14, and lots of memories made! We spent a lot of time in the water-paddle boarding, kayaking, and swimming- the floating lilly pad was a hit for the kids! My only complaint was the listing when booking showed a hot tub at the house, and it has apparently since been removed. Other than that, i'd give our stay 5 stars :) we would definitely stay here again.

Slater Family River Trip

Beautiful home - amazing kitchen! Slater Family river trip was definitely a success! My husband and I and our 4 grown children, their spouses, and grandchildren stayed - 14 total. We had a amazing time playing in the water on the floating island and fishing. Great times. Loads of space for all. Game nights and hanging under the patio and playing corn hole! Can’t wait to come back. Will most definitely recommend and will book again for our next River floating trip. Thank you Chad and Gaby for an amazing time!
