Spring Meadows Lodge
This is a Log home with 2200 sq. ft., 3 bedrooms (sleeps 8), 2 baths, and large bonus room for recreation or sleeping. The home has been used, in years past, for retreats and can handle large groups.
The home is surrounded by lush green meadows and majestic mountains adjacent to Pend Oreille River. It is quiet and peaceful. The location is well suited to explore the surrounding areas; Sandpoint, Silverwood Theme Park, Priest River/Lake and of course, Newport, where you can explore the historical district, go to a movie at the "Roxy Theater", or shop and eat at the local favorites.
An added feature that enchases the charm of this property is a 105 yr. old barn, listed on the Heritage Barn Register. Great for family pictures.
You will find within your walking distance; Pend Oreille River where you can enjoy watching the Bald Eagles, fishing, boating and swimming. You will also find 6 miles of Maintained National Forest known as “The Wolf Trails” practically out your back door. Enjoy hiking & biking along this trail. Autumn is a beautiful time of year also to enjoy all the wonderful surrounding colors.
When the snow begins to fall put on your snow shoes or go cross-country skiing and then snuggle up to the warm wood stove and have a cup of hot chocolate. If you’re in the mood for some high elevation fun, travel to Schweitzer Mountain Resort and 49° North Mountain Resort, both approximately 40 miles away. Or if you are into snowmobiling travel to Priest Lake within 30 minutes or head North 15 minutes for great adventures.

Time to Relax
It was exactly what we needed. We took a hike and relaxed on the back porch. Woke up to deer behind the fence. It was so welcoming and instantly made us feel at home. Would definitely rent this home again. The owners were very responsive and great to deal with! I got some great barn pictures as well :)

Super clean and well provisioned cabin
We so enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. We enjoyed a family thanksgiving with our local relatives and had all we needed to serve a lovely dinner. Deer in the garden and quail and a lovely old barn in such a picturesque setting. I’m hoping to come back.

Great place
This property was wonderful. It was close to town but you felt like you were out in the country. It was clean and so well decorated. The amount of supplies that were provided was amazing. I have never been in a VRBO that was so well supplied with equipment and basic supplies! The owner was very gracious about our needs, as well.

Mountain serenity!
This was an amazing place to stay! The place was clean and had all the amenities one might need or want! It was a perfect escape to relax between the chaotic times of my daughters wedding in the area! So warm and comforting at such a crazy (but fun) time. Had a great time with extended family the last evening in the large backyard too. The barn was picturesque! Loved the deer and turkeys roaming around and onto the property! The mountain surroundings were gorgeous and offered a lovely hikes nearby! I'd highly recommend staying here!

Family memorial gathering
Needed a larger home for extended family, plus a large kitchen space for cooking. This place did the trick along with a relaxing atmosphere that we sorely needed. The only drawbacks for us (and they weren't anything to whine about) were that a baby gate for the stairs would not have been missed and although it was great that there was so much stuff we couldn't utilize enough of the cabinet and drawer space to stay as organized as we would have liked so it was hectic getting out on time. But we were cooking for 30 to take to another venue so most people wouldn't have that problem. All in all 5 stars!!!!

Lovely home!
This home met our needs well. It was conveniently located near the venue of the wedding we were attending, and was comfortably outfitted with all that was needed. Sheila was very responsive to my messages, and easy to work with. Northport, while not a large community, was charming and has a nice grocery store, and the cheapest gas I've seen in ages! We loved the wild turkeys that wandered through the yard, and saw several deer nearby. The neighborhood is quiet, and the house is secluded at the end of a long driveway near the end of a road. Very peaceful! I wish we had stayed longer :)

Very peaceful and quiet
We were here for a wedding nearby. The rest of the extended family were staying at Northern Quest Casino, 90 minutes away. We stayed here—a quiet getaway in a gorgeous area. Watched hummingbirds feed on the hanging flower baskets while we sipped our coffee. It was WAY better than a noisy casino. The hosts were very kind.

Perfection!
We were looking for a comfortable place to land while we visited Silverwood and Idaho Tree to Tree Adventures with our five adult children. Norm and Sheila’s place was perfect! It was comfortable and clean, rich in history, conveniently located (for some local fun as well) and set in an absolutely breathtaking landscape. We ended up hiring a photographer to have family pictures taken on the property. Sheila and Norm were absolute class acts and easy to communicate with, they thought of everything. We had intended to use the home as a launching pad for all of our adventures, but we found ourselves just wanting to stay there and enjoy it😂. We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful getaway!
This property is beautiful! We stayed here to attend a family reunion in Priest River. The house was well stocked, very clean and accommodating. The house is a close drive to grocery stores and restaurants. Sheila and Norm truly provide a wonderful vacation experience. Our kids loved the yard and all of the space. It was a really peaceful place to see deer, wild turkeys and beautiful birds. We will definitely be back!

Perfect setting for my team to relax and work in peace
The wedding we were in town to cater was a breeze because we were able to stay so close by. The size of the kitchen was a major plus. We especially enjoyed our first night, having dinner in the back yard, laying in the grass watching the clouds go by and talking. It was a great weekend.

Absolutely Perfect!!
This property is amazing! It was very clean & well maintained. We were 5 adults and 2 infants and had plenty of room in the house. And it is beautiful outside. There's easy access to the river and a hiking trail. Pretty much everything you might need is available. Such a comfortable home. I had to call with a question and Sheila is a sweetheart!

Thanksgiving Retreat
Our family of four stayed at this property over part of the Thanksgiving break. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They even left a basket of goodies upon our arrival. The house smelt amazing and there was even an abundance of wood for the indoor stove! Definitely a place we will rent again in the future.

Just loved the location to Foxwood House. We stayed for my Daughter's wedding, with family. The grounds are beautiful, kept very tidy, and the house was well stocked with toiletries, and misc kitchen items. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, and playing corn hole in the garage. Amazing location!!
We stayed here for a family wedding weekend and the place was perfect! Sheila and Norm were great to work with from the very beginning to end. The house is tastefully decorated and stocked better than any other place we have stayed in. Warm and friendly touches throughout the house make you feel like you're home! We enjoyed the outside as much as the inside with it's great seating, propane fire pit and beautiful views! Hope to come back!!

There is not enough great things to say about this rental home. Everything about our stay was wonderful. Beautiful and Relaxing
We stayed here as our daughter was getting married in Priest River (one town over). and wanted to be somewhere close to the wedding venue. The home is warm, inviting and relaxing. It is very well organized with all the cabinets labeled. There were snacks and cold beverages for us when we arrived. That was unexpected and very welcomed and appreciated after a long nearly 6 hour drive. The owners are superb to work with. They have worked hard to make this I feel like you have “come home” but with a vacation twist. There are games to play, movies to watch (if you chose to even turn on the tv), turkeys to watch in the yard (there were 15 little ones and 3 adults when we were there), bald eagles with a nest in one of the trees that had young eaglets in it, an orchard, deer and just a beautiful setting. We would rent this property again. It was simply lovely. Thank you for having this great listing!

We stayed for a long weekend for a wedding in Newport. The house is amazing! Fully loaded with everything you would want. Great yard to play lawn games. Amazing views all around! Sheila was great and very responsive-would highly recommend!

Best place on the Ponderay River
We were two weary vacation rental owners who needed a break from Arizona's hot summer. So we chose this historic ranch house in the Newport area to spend a month. We ended up being there during the great heat wave in the northwest of 2021! But we stayed cool and comfortable in this spacious home located away from the surrounding neighborhood with deer and wild turkeys showing up every day to forage. We took walks every morning, explored the states of Washington and Idaho, entertained friends from Portland and Arizona for a week and took quick trips into town for groceries and gas. We shopped at Amish bakeries, picked fruit and veggies from Greenbluff farms, ate huckleberry ice cream, and ate danish from the local bakery in Newport (worth the walk). We attended some great churches, sang music with our friends and took a pontoon boat ride on Priest Lake which we thought the highlight of our time together. This was the perfect place for us, and our hosts were great fun to be with and share experiences in ownership of vacation rentals. Sheila offers too many amenities to name. We highly recommend this place!
