“Nicole and Malcolm make Craigmount so special. Book themed bedrooms to reflect Wigtown, and a lovely sitting room to read or eatch TV. Our double bedded room with ensuite overlooked the garden. The room was quite compact, and made more so by our largish suitcases. If you have big bags, perhaps book a family room. All the rooms are accessible via stairs. The pre-ordered breakfast was freshly cooked and wonderful. Dinner options in town or nearby were limited, except to drive, especially mid-week.……

“We are a family of 4 traveling through 4 countries for 2 weeks. This was our favorite! Upon checkin, Alan met us and showed us to our room. He was so friendly and welcoming. We had the family suite. It was so beautiful and comfortable! Each kid had their own twin bed, and they loved it! Windows opened to hear the seagulls and cars below, and let in the cool sea breeze. There was plenty of space to move around. The bathroom was very clean and perfect for us. We ordered the full breakfast the next……

“Stayed over for one night passing through on a cycling trip. The host was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful storing and charging our bikes. Only open for B&B but fortunately the local tearoom opens on weekend evenings for meals. Well stocked community shop next door and community pub at the end of the street. Great village and area.”

“Overnight stay. Due to our own problems could not check in arriving after 12mn very good instructions to gain entry and directions to room. Breakfast made to order delicious and plentiful. Hotel is tierd in places but room was modern obviously newly updated. Bed very comfortable family are improving areas all the time. Well worth a visit if you are coming to Castle Douglas.”
