Hotel is good location. Room and facilities low standard, though clean (mostly), not very comfortable and some issues. Bed head presses against light switch and bed wobbles, thus the light kept going on/off. Kettle broken and room was super cold at night. To be fair it was -6 or so outside. Staff were nice and friendly and for the price and location it was fairly good. The check-in process was smooth, and the receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. This is a budget hotel, so some areas like the corridors, paintwork, and carpets are a bit outdated—but for the price we paid, it was excellent value. Our room was very spacious, with good water pressure in the shower. It was quiet, very warm (make sure you open the radiator!), and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price, which was a nice bonus. The breakfast was simple but practical: cereal, bread with butter and jam, boiled eggs, juice, water, coffee, and tea—just what you need to start the day. If anyone wants a more elaborate breakfast, there are plenty of places nearby in Reading. Check-out was smooth as well. Cons - desperately needs updating, room smelt of smoke, very limited breakfast, so noisy. I could hear neighbour's television word for word. Earplugs in from 4pm.
