Aki is full of surprises, but don't restrict yourself to just the one place. Grab a set of wheels and head off to see what else awaits in the wider region. Here are some ideas:

• You'll discover MTV Centre and loads more amazing sights in Cheboksary. From Aki, it's roughly 80 miles away.
• Located 110 miles away, Yelabuga is also a favorite with wanderers. Be sure to check out Devil's Ancient Settlement while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love coming to this city.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Russia, then it's likely you'll need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. You should also note that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well.
