After you've checked out all of the well-known attractions in Del Valle, there's loads more to discover in the surrounding area. Collect the keys to a rental car, toss your bags in the trunk and hit the road. We've pulled together some road trips we think you'll enjoy:

• You'll find Cuauhnahuac Regional Museum and loads of other intriguing attractions in Cuernavaca. From Del Valle, it's about 35 miles away.
• Situated 65 miles away, Puebla is also a favorite with travelers. Be sure to experience Africam Safari while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love coming to this vibrant city.
• La Ropa Beach is 200 miles from Del Valle and is one of the region's most gorgeous nature spots. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Mexico, then you may need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be 25 or over in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of cars you can rent.
