The best thing, by far, about the property is the location. An easy walk to museums, cafes and tourist sites, Moon Cottage is ideally situated for a Reykjavik visit. But, and it is a big BUT, the property is smaller than it appears from online photos and every movement can be heard through the thin walls. The bedrooms are up a very steep flight of stairs but the climb is barely worth it. I have not slept in beds this bad since my student days and three of our party left with aching backs. The fourth person was ok but only because they checked out on the first night and move to a nearby hotel. The listing claims to sleep six but the downstairs sofa bed has a mattress so thin that a better night would be spent sleeping on corrugated iron. The house is well-stocked, the host accessible and friendly but neither of those things overcame the awfulness of those beds.
