The Gardens and Grounds were lovely. However, there were virtually no staff - possibly because there were only 2 other guests and consequently we were asked if we would accept a room in the main building rather than what we had booked in a villa. The first room we were given smelt of drains. We were moved to the second floor with no lift which was inconvenient for my wife. The evening meal was very disappointing (processed food) and the last straw was no hot water the next morning. We left a day early and were told that there would be no refund - Although I hadn't asked for one a gesture would have been appreciated.

This is a stunning property because of its unique building and large, lovely estate. The 1610 original structure is intriguing yet the rooms are reasonably modern.

It is a lovely place, well maintained and wit friendly staff. ou really feel like you are in a palace. My only complaint was yje dning opions. Menu was the same for the 2 nights we stayed there.

Lovely hotel in the mountains
Hotel had beautiful gardens with a lovely swimming pools which our two young boys enjoyed. Good restaurant that served breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was included. The chef organised an amazing chocolate birthday cake for our son who turned 6 while we were there.

Beautiful Cantabria
We had the unique opportunity to stay 3 nights at Torre de Ruesga. This 400 years old palace was thoughtfully reconstructed, creating perfect harmony between modernity and history in every detail. Sleeping at the top of the stone tower really makes you imagine how people lived there 400 years ago. The garden and the surroundings are extremely beautiful and peaceful. breakfast is standard, but the highlight is definitely the personal service and hospitality. The friendly staff went out of their way to make our stay special, and especially Gonzalo - the perfect host, knowledgeable and patient, who tailored trips and sightseeing for us in the beautiful area of Cantabria.

Our best stay yet
The hotel is midst wonderful scenery yet only 40 minutes from Santander or Bilbao ferries. The service from the owner Giorgio was excellent and the restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced. Clean and comfortable spacious rooms tastefully decorated with all amenities. We have already booked for a return visit later in the summer.

Old Palace with style
Had a good overnight stay. Wonderful old building in the mountains 20 mins from motorway to Santander. Only 21 Euros for a three course dinner. Take the road over the pass to Santander from La Cavada to Ville for good views and see the Eagles

Precioso hotel que debe cuidar más los detalles
El hotel es muy bonito, el edificio está muy cuidado, la gran decepción ha sido el desayuno. Nos alojamos en una habitación de 4 mis hijos mi marido y yo, cuando llegamos nos informaron que el desayuno se servía en bandeja en la habitación, por las limitaciones de el COVID, pero realmente sirvieron un desayuno como para dos personas, es decir, un yogur para los cuatro, dos zumos para los cuatro, un croissant para cuatro......, En definitiva una buena bandeja para 1 o 2 comensales pero para los cuatro regular.

Die Unterkunft liegt in einer sehr schönen Umgebung. Die Zimmer sind unheimlich hellhörig, man findet kaum Schlaf. Es wurde noch eine Feier im Hotel veranstaltet, sodass man die Nacht nur 4 Stunden schlafen konnte.

Personnel très agréable et efficace, hôtel magnifique au pied des montagnes. Calme assuré. Pas de mauvaises surprises dans la suite. Petit déjeuner et dîner au restaurant de l’hotel, très copieux, nous avons très bien mangé pour un prix plus que raisonnable. Je recommande.

beautiful palace hotel
I was really impressed the hotel. It located beside of valley and beautiful spain mountain. The hotel is delicately decorated by owner. The owner also really kind and welcoming us and he prepared sincerely our breakfast . I want go back again, if I have a opportunity to go Spain.

Hotel charmant pour un week end romantique
Endroit magnifique pour séjour romantique, les suites garden sont spacieuses, le petit déjeuner est délicieux, il ne faut pas hésiter diner sur place le repas est excellent, personnel très agréable

El sitio es fantastico, aunque un poco apartado, lo cual no tiene por que ser un defecto. De todas formas la tele de la habitacion era vieja y no iba bien y en estos tiempos se echa en falta wifi en la habitacion.

Ihana ja tunnelmallinen hotelli kauniissa kylässä
Kuvat eivät tee oikeutta tälle hotellille, yllätyimme todella positiivisesti. Ihanan rauhallinen tunnelma, todella sydämellinen vastaanotto ja puhtaat kauniit huoneet. Aamiainen oli todella kattava, vasta puristettua appelsiinimehua, espanjalaisia ruokia ja tuoreita hedelmiä jne. Perheyritys, jonka todella huomasi huolenpidon määrästä. Ympäristö on taianomaisen kaunis pieni kylä. Ainoa vaikeus tässä kohteessa on, että vaatii auton saapumiseen. Loistava yhdistelmä oli mennä ensin rantakohteeseen ensin (esim. Laredo olisi lähin, itse olimme Somo-nimisessä paikassa, jossa myös kauniit rannat), jonka jälkeen tuonne. Kylä oli itsessään hyvin pieni, joten parhaiten soveltuu rauhallista tai romanttista ympäristöä etsiville.

What a beautiful medieval castle!!
Such an enchanting place. We stayed in one of the towers, which was transformed into a charming two floor apartment. Restaurant served delicious food, and graden and pool area was calm and full of ambiance. City around a little dull, but close to beautiful mountains.
