We had a wonderful stay in St. Augustine! This property is very modern and sleek. We had a few issues with the cleanliness, i.e. the previous renter had left an article of clothing, the sheets were still somewhat damp when we arrived, the back porch looked as if it had not been straightened and the glasses stored in the back rows on the shelves had dust in them as they are stored upright. The beds were soft and very enveloping but we slept soundly. There are large platform beds that could be dangerous if you are a family with toddlers. I found the property manager to be highly responsive in resolving what we requested. The location is pretty ideal. It's just a short drive to the center of lovely St. Augustine with it's lovely ocean breezes, fun shops, museums and restaurants. St. Georges Street was a highlight, of course! It is also in close proximity to countless activites like the Alligator Farm (a HUGE hit with the kids and their parents), Mini Golf, the Pirate Museum (with some kitsch but also some serious artifacts from the many Spanish shipwrecks off the coast!), El Castillo de San Marcos, the St. Augustine Cathedral, and the Lighthouse Museum with it's 200+ steps to a fantastic view. There is so, so much to do in St. Augustine and before you run out of days please remember to hit the beach! We took a short drive to Villano Beach and the kids swam and played for hours in the relatively calm waters with just enough wave action to keep it interesting! This beach is fantastic for the littles too, as it has a giant sandbar that creates warmer little ocean pools if you time your visit to low tide. The weather was absolutely perfect! The property didn't offer sand chairs so we purchased some and left them there for the next folks. Be sure to scope out your dinner plans in advance as there are many options for upscale with casual vibe. Fish Camp (gorgeous location at sunset, food was good), Casa Reina (gorgeous Spanish interior with patio seating and great food), Prohibition Kitchen on St. George St. (really fun historical theme with fun ice cream milkshakes and floats). We also had a delicious lobster roll there and I'm from MA so I'm particular. Turns out the owners are also from ME so they know what they're doing! But the waits can be loooong if you don't have a reservation. Plan ahead! The options for casual food are also great! Check out Pizza Town, Mojos Tacos, Burriot Works Taco Shop (St. George St.). + the ppl are so friendly!!!
