A rarity amongst hotels nowadays. Wonderful service, elegant and friendly. More like a club than a hotel. Small and intimate in scale, an antidote to chain hotels. If you believe that old-fashioned can be a virtue then come here. Also the free breakfast and wonderful ladies of the Fruhstuckruam is a bonus!

Our family has been staying here for over 30 years! It is a 5 minutes walk from St Stephens Cathederal. This hotel has so much charm & the location is excellent. Fantastic staff, breakfasts, food, lovely & relaxing bar/lounge area too.

I think KVU is the best kept secret in Vienna. The location is so convenient and the staff is so amazing.Very nice breakfast, I have been coming here for about 30 years and never been disappointed.

Hotel in historic building. Excellent breakfast buffet. Nice bar and lounge but restaurant no longer open. Perfect location in city center. Only minutes from main square and cathedral and subway train station. Shower is located inside the bathtub and is not ideal for older guests.

We loved our stay at this beautiful hotel. It is so conveniently located in the old historic part of the city, yet very quiet. The family room setup was great with the 2 (young adult) kids upstairs and us downstairs. Breakfast was fabulous too.

Fantastic hotel and experience in Vienna
Great location close to St. Stephen’s church and restaurants/shops, we were given a room that had extra 2 beds in the attic !! which was a surprise.. breakfast was phenomenal .. the room and over all the hotel were superbly clean. This hotel is a hidden gem and worth every penny.

We loved everything about this hotel, the location was excellent, central location yet it's quiet on a street. The room and property were very elegant, well maintained and historical. All stuff members were friendly and professional. The breakfast was very good, very impressed. We would love to go back this hotel when we go back to Vienna for sure.

Fantastic place

Superlative Hotel
I had two nights at this lovely hotel. The location cannot be beat. It is beautiful, with a comfortable atrium lobby for coffee or wine. The room and bathroom were fantastic, spacious. All of that would have been fantastic, but the hotel staff, Siri in particular were amazing. My wallet was stolen at a train station prior to Vienna. I arrived upset and very stressed out. Siri offered and then walked me to the nearby Police Station to file a report. That care and kindness went a long way after an awful experience. The staff was kind and attentive - makes a difference. I'll be back to this beautiful spot!

The hotel is located just behind the St Stephen's Cathedral and the center yet still very quiet. It's very central so is walkable to many places. U-bahn and shopping streets are a few minutes walk from the hotel, what more do you ask for. The room is spacious with sitting area and spotless. Big bathroom with 2 washing basins. Bed is big and very comfortable. The pillows choice is perfect. I prefer the low one while my husband prefers the high one. Everyday after the room is cleaned by the team of housekeeping, chocolate on the pillows and the water is filled. These are tiny things but that makes you feel they care their customers. The bartenders are very nice and attentive. Eateries and bars are everywhere and good. We reached the hotel by taxi and took the public transport (U-Bahn and train) to the airport. Both are about the same time around an hour. We will definitely stay at Hotel Konig von Ungarn again if we come back to Vienna in the future.

Behind this traditional old -quarter hotel is a modern professional facility with excellent service. Reception staff were particularly helpful eg willingly printing off concert tickets and my boarding card. My single room was very comfortable, well appointed and peaceful. I would have happily taken the room chair away with me, it was so good! Breakfasts were exceptional. The hotel’s quiet but very central location, close to Stephenplatz, was perfect for me. The metro is very close. It was my 2nd stay and I would happily return..

Excellent traditional hotel steps from Stephansdom, in the middle of Vienna's justly famous First District. Excellent breakfast and lounge/lobby. No restaurant but neighbourhood is full of 'em. Parking nearby but expensive: this is a city whose public transit is really excellent. Hapsburg glories and Musikverein/Staatsoper i walking distance.

Excellent hotel and staff! Super clean, fantastic location ( located just around the corner from Mozart's apartment) and the infamous church, St. Stephen's Cathedral. The daily buffet served a variety of breads, cheese, cold cut meats and cereals w/ toppings. You can also have eggs (served fried, poached or scrambled) w/ your choice of sausage, bacon or ham. The staff was warm, welcoming and inviting. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A wonderful oasis in the center of town, with excellent staff in all levels (front desk, restaurant, bar, housekeeping). We were very pleased with our 5 night stay here. Superb location in the center of Vienna that makes getting to all sights very easy. The bar is in an inner courtyard in the hotel and is a quiet retreat.

Location, location…
Nice small hotel in the absolute best location imaginable in central Vienna. Nice, quiet room with a very nice large and recently renovated bathroom. Otherwise .. decor a bit dated, and whole hotel has a bit of .”patina”. Front desk very friendly and helpful, breakfast good for the price. We will stay there again.

They remember how to be properly welcoming
This hotel has not gotten the memo about behaving like a low-cost airline and it is so good for it! The building is ancient and centrally located right behind the Stephansdom. They stand out by a beautiful glass-covered inner courtyard inbetween the 4 sides of the hotel. I got a classical room. One gets the impression of following history as they have exhibited famous signatures from their guestbook on the walls. The room was extremely spacious, with a huge bed, two desks, even paper and postcards! Coffee / tea, as well as a minibar were in the room. Little attentions like a shoe-polish glove and chocolate on the pillow made the experience sweet. The bathroom was very modern and perfectly fitted for all ages (including his-her sinks, chair, bathtub with shower glass etc), and with proper (local, own-brand, partly hand-made) toiletries. Breakfast is also classical: cold options (sandwich and muesli mostly, and juices) are self-serve. Hot dishes (and they have about ten, including omelette and goulash; as well as coffee -tea) are made to order (included in price). The staff is super-friendly and pro-actively invites you to order the warm dishes. All in all, I did not think that after living in Vienna many years there was still such a gem to discover. I will return!
