“Two brothers and a sister with their spouses spent a week here. Took a sunset cruise and just drove around and enjoyed the area. Visited some lighthouses and wineries. The women enjoyed the shopping and the men enjoyed the beer. The cabin was very comfortable and the deer and squirrels were friendly..Great area for hiking and kayaking. Saw some fishermen catching some nice sized fish. ”

“We really enjoyed our time at Starkhaus! It is an easy walk or very short drive into Sister Bay, where you can enjoy the beach, marina, restaurants, and shops. It is also an easy drive to Newport State Park, Ellison Bay, Bailey's Harbor, etc. In short, we were able to kayak, hike, see the Cana Island Lighthouse, visit the Ridges Sanctuary, etc. within only a 15-20 minute drive. “The setting of this property is very serene. We did have one unfortunate event that affected this rating. The shower on/off failed in the on position and we waited nearly 2 hours for a plumber. We then learned it was poor workmanship that had caused the problem and that there are multiple problems with the installation of the shower hardware. This was very unfortunate to experience on our last morning with a 10 am check out. No compensation of time or $ was offered for this inconvenience.”

“This house was everything we needed for our weeklong stay on the Island. A short walk to Red Cup coffee and Albatross ice cream and grill. Beds were comfortable and our group really appreciated having two bathrooms with showers — the upstairs bathroom was especially spacious and comfortable. No AC, but the ceiling fans made our warmest days manageable. We’d absolutely stay here again!”

“We found the listing to be as shown and had a comfortable stay, The VRBO in Deer Run Golf Course is a great location near to the main shops, Red Cup Coffee and the bookstore, and the lavender farm. It was quiet and we heard quails. The washer/dryer is a plus. Very close to KK Fiske and Mann’s Mercantile. Daniel and Laura were helpful caretakers and were ready to answer our questions. “It’s definitely old school and dated but our room was clean and staff was very friendly. I was very disappointed that they closed and drained the outdoor pool on our second day and wasn’t told they were doing that. The weather was awesome and I was in there the first night and enjoyed it very much! ”
