Day 1
After taking an overnight bus from Istanbul, arrive in Ephesus to scope out the well-preserved columns of the Temple of Artemis and learn about the apostle Paul, who lived here for a short time. Continue on to a tucked-away mountain retreat where the Virgin Mary is believed to have spent her final days, take the afternoon for lunch, and then visit the crumbling remains of stadiums, baths, and temples from Roman times at Laodicea. In the evening, check in at your hotel at Pamukkale where you can rest up before another day of exploration.

Day 2
Grab breakfast and then dive into the history of Hierapolis as you listen to commentary about Philip the apostle and scope out more church sites mentioned in the Book of Revelation. See the youngest of those churches in nearby Philadelphia, now the modern town of Alaşehir. Day 3
Fill up on breakfast before spending your final day meandering around the former healing baths of Pergamom's Asclepium. See the oldest church in Izmir, St. Polycarp, before catching your overnight bus back to Istanbul.
