What you can expect
Explore Bue Marino Cave and Relax at the Stunning Cala Luna Beach
Depart from Cala Gonone on an unforgettable boat excursion to discover two of the most iconic destinations in the Gulf of Orosei. Visit the spectacular Bue Marino Cave on a guided tour, then spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beautiful Cala Luna Beach, widely regarded as one of the most stunning beaches in the Mediterranean.
Full Description
Since the 1950s, Bue Marino Cave has been one of Sardinia's most famous natural attractions, welcoming thousands of visitors from around the world every year.
The cave takes its name from the Mediterranean monk seal, known by local people as the “Bue Marino” (“Sea Ox”) because of its stocky appearance and gentle nature. For many years, this cave was one of the last natural refuges of this endangered species in Sardinia.
Travel to the cave aboard our boats and explore the spectacular southern branch, accompanied by the official cave guides along an easy walking path suitable for most visitors. During the approximately 1-hour guided tour, you will discover impressive chambers adorned with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites, underground lakes, and fascinating geological and natural features that make this cave truly unique.
After the cave tour, the boat will continue to Cala Luna, one of the most iconic beaches in the Gulf of Orosei.
With its 800-metre stretch of golden sand, spectacular sea caves opening onto the beach, a freshwater lagoon behind the shore, and lush Mediterranean vegetation, Cala Luna offers an unforgettable setting where you can relax, swim in crystal-clear waters, or explore the scenic trails winding through the Mediterranean scrub.
In the afternoon, you can return to Cala Gonone on one of the scheduled boats departing from Cala Luna. Return departure times vary depending on the season and will be communicated by our staff on the day of your excursion.
Important Information
The entrance ticket to Bue Marino Cave is included in the excursion price.
From July to September, due to environmental protection regulations, the maximum stay permitted on Cala Luna Beach is 3 hours.
Return boat departure times are approximate and may vary depending on operational requirements and seasonal schedules. Updated departure times will be provided before the excursion begins.
